WAW Frederic Chopin Airport
Warsaw
"Warsaw Airport"
Warsaw Frederick Chopin airport is located on the southern edge of the city. The airport has been extensively modernised with a terminal which is only a couple of years old. Upon landing you can have a fairly long walk up ramps to passport control so beware of taking heavier luggage on board with no wheels. Sometimes security checks around 18.00 - 19.00 can take some time so arrive early. The facilities airside are very good.
One word of warning for newcomers - DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES take a taxi from anyone offering a cab in the arrivals hall. There are legal taxis just outside. The wait is usually very short and a cab to the city centre should not cost more than about Zloty 40 (around €10)
"Nice"
I liked it. Close to the city. Nice terminal layout (the new part - old one needs refreshment). Friendly stuff.
"Easy to navigate, clean"
WAW, Chopin Airport has a new terminal, number 2, which is for international destinations/arrivals. It's clean, modern, not huge but big enough so it's not crowded. Compare it with JFK and it's real clean and with friendly staff. This is the airport most people will get to while traveling for Euro 2012 (soccer).
"Very nice"
In my opinion very best airport in Central Europe. Friendly stuff (beautiful stewardeses), passenger friendly infrastructure, lot of shops (Ive heard that Aelia's Warsaw store is largest in the world), close to the city. Recomending for use.
