United Airlines Reviews
"Customer Service and Refund total dissatisfaction"
they double charged me and I can not get refund for about 20 days, they charged and took the money from my account within minutes, failed to confirm so I had no idea I was being overcharged, and I have to wait how long to get my money?
I have no money in my account, cannot pay a few bills, space rent for my RV, etc, they have left me with nothing and fail to respond, their phillipine customer service is rude and will hang up on you.. they are TERRIBLE< they need to be sued..
"They are unreliable, unprofessional and discriminatory"
I doubt that I would fly with United Airline again. They are unreliable, unprofessional and discriminatory. I booked and paid for my flight from San Francisco to San Diego with an assigned seat as my last connection of my international trip almost 4 months in advance and checked in for the flight 24 hours in advance. I arrived at the assigned gate in San Francisco more than 2 hours in advance and was the 3rd person standing in line of the priority. However, because of overbooking, I was denied boarding discriminatorily without any explanation while other passengers lining up behind me boarding the plane. After I got home, I complained to their Customer Care and demanded an explanation for being picked to be denied boarding. After one month, they told me that other passengers paid more for their tickets than I did. Really!!! My flight from San Francisco to San Diego was one of the 4 flights in my ticket purchase 4 months ago. They can give me whatever excuse they have and think that I will accept some certificate to fly with them again, but I doubt that I will take the chance of not getting to my destination on time with United Airline again.
"Worst Customer Service Ever"
Our United flight was cancelled last minute at 10:30 at night via recorded message. We had already checked in, printed our boarding passes and paid for a checked bag. We then had to spend hours on the phone trying to keep our family Disney vacation plans. We ended up getting sent to an airport 3 hours away and had to leave our home at 2am in order to make the new flight. once there, they had no record of our already paid baggage fee and we had to pay another and fly standby on our connecting flight. We were also told that we could not change our return flight in order to fly back in to the airport where our car was parked without paying outrageous change fees. We had to fly back into our home airport and rent a car and then drive 6 hours round trip to pick up our car, not to mention paying extra airport parking. None of this was compensated, or even apologized for, not even the extra bag fee. We booked our flight through Expedia and when we called they said it was the Airlines fault and that they should take care of it. We called United and they said that because we decided to take the flight out of the 2nd airport they had done all they needed to in order remedy our situation. I will never use Expedia or fly United ever again. I am outraged at how we were treated and can't believe that this kind of poor customer service can exist.
"The Walmart of the sky!"
On our return trip from Paris, the video equipment on the plane was inoperative and we had to fly 10 hours with no entertainment. No compensation was offered for the lack of video no the Paris flight. Not fun! Our luggage was misplaced and still hasn't shown up. Other than that, the cast and crew were fantastic. Not their fault! We fly a lot, and won't fly United again!
"Poor First Class"
This is the second time I have flown United Airlines in their United First cabin on their 747-400.
The fleet is now ageing and the First class cabin is in need of a good overhaul, in fact their business class cabin looks much better although some what more crowded than First class.
Emirates first class knocks spots off of United First, my advise would be to save your money and fly Qantas on their new A380.
United Airlines really needs to up their game if they want to retain customers on their LAX-SYD routes, especially as there are other better carriers to choose from.
"United Airlines Poor Customer Service "
United Airlines does a very poor job in accommodating their customers, as well as having a very poor customer service method, and their website is also no help what so ever, they claim to provide the best customer service care they can and have completely fell back on how to appropriately accommodate their customers.
Canceling a flight upon arriving to check in is very inconvenient and a definite waste of money, especially while giving no form of fare reasoning to passengers as to why the flight had so called been canceled "5 minutes" upon arriving to check in. There was no notification of this cancellation and could not even be informed by the check in clerk what the reason behind the cancelation was. There was no proper accommodation given and will now have to wait 7-14 business days until receiving some sort of notification regarding this complaint. Not fare at all being that if it were to be the passenger canceling their trip the same day, their would definitely be a penalty and United Airlines would not tolerate nonetheless wait 7-14 business days to receive their penalty fee for same day cancellation. If United Airlines knew there were mechanical difficulties with their plane, (come to find out only after contacting their customer service), why not advise their passengers ahead of time to avoid this huge inconvenience. Waste of time, waste of money, and very frustrating. I do not believe the fact that United Airlines was advised of these mechanical issues 5 minutes upon arrival to check in and only 2 hours before passengers began to board the plane.
I've flown UA for 20 years because there was little alternative, but never again. After a medical emergency in New York they cared not a hoot. We had to change to Hawaiian Airlines to get back in reasonable time and expense. Next time I will go sytraight to Hawaiian, which is at least a decent airline.
"WORST AIRLINE EVER"
I cannon tell you how much I loathe United Airlines! Ever since getting bumped off a flight a year and a half ago, and trying to use the credit they gave me, it has been one COLOSSAL headache after another. Everything costs extra - seat upgrades (Economy Plus, not a choice when you are booking a flight), change fees, everything. They have made out like bandits at my expense.
I used my voucher to take my son to college in Scotland last fall, and had to cancel my ticket when his student visa didn't come in time. Was told by customer service when I cancelled that I could use the credit from my ticket to get him a flight home in May. Well, he was wrong, and not only can I not transfer the ticket to my son, they wouldn't give me a refund. So I had to use the ticket by July to fly somewhere myself or lose the $1100. I just booked a ticket using $800 of the $1100 credit. Got charged extra for the change fee (they won't take that out of the credit) and the additional $300 is in my name, so it's still use it or lose it.
After this last flight, I WILL NEVER FLY ON UNITED AGAIN. Ever.
I have a credit with United Airlines from a trip I was going to take of about $990.00 and wanted to use it to purchase new tickets for my honeymoon to Hawaii. Not only did I have to wait nearly 10-15 mins to talk to the 1st representative (who was in Pune, India) but was told they have to charge an additional $150 per ticket because I'm "changing my flight and location." I then waited an additional 20 mins to talk to a supervisor who could not explain to me what the charge is for. I found out through reading of the fine print that its for loss of revenue that they could have sold the tickets. I canceled the trip for which I had the credit nearly 3 months prior to the departure date!!! Why am I paying an additional cost of $300 to use a credit that I have already paid for in full!! I am trying to rebook with United to use the credit and be happy, but they do not care at all about their customers and treat them as just another passenger instead as separate individuals. I am so dissatisfied with United Airlines that I am going to be posting on all review sites that people stay clear of them. I will never recommend them and will never use them for the remainder of my life. I would pay double the price not to fly United after my experience with them.
