"Russian Airlines = worst service and old planes with uncomfortable seats and no entertainment"

Review

I flew from LAX to VKO and back in the premium economy class. The flight from LAX was OK, since the plane wasn’t full. It was hot on the plane, no AC, no ice for the drinks. Not sure why, but they make you keep the windows open while you are waiting for a takeoff and during the takeoff, makes it even hotter. They do not offer any inflight entertainment (unless you are willing to pay $40-50 for portable player) and no duty free shopping. When I asked flight attendant if they have mineral water, she told me they do, but without bubbles and poured me regular water . They will give you water only when they serve food – two time during the whole flight (11 hours flight). Also, the restrooms I was next too were locked strictly for flight attendants use. Both, economy and economy premium class had to use same four restrooms that quickly became disgusting. The flight from Moscow was even worse. The check-in line was insane, since it was the check in line for all the passengers flying to the USA (LA, NYC, and Miami). Also, the flight was delayed about 3 hr. The airline didn’t bother communicating this information to the passengers, the screen at the airport was showing “boarding” during the whole time. When I asked why we are not boarding they told me that the flight is delayed for unknown reasons/ technical difficulties (whatever that supposed to mean) and they don’t know when it will be taking off. The week prior to my flight I heard on the news that Boeing stopped selling parts to the Russian Airlines and of course our plane was Boeing 777. Anyway, sometime later we all board the plane that was parked there for the last three or four hours with the hopes that technical difficulties have been resolved successfully. Afterward, the flight was full, when I board the plane somebody was already on my seat, I had to get in some serious argument to get my aisle seat back. And again it was hot! The man who was seating across from my aisle seat was constantly trying to direct the fan above me on himself. I couldn't wait to get home and be done with this.

"Cancellation of flight without warning"

Review

I was supposed to fly to Moscow from Mineralnye Vody.
This flight has been cancelled without information (no phone call, no e-mail, no SMS).
Consequently, I lost my connecting flight from Moscow to Vienna.
Discussing with Lufthansa in Moscow, I finally obtain tickets to reach Frankfurt in the evening, but had to stay overnight in Frankfurt to catch a connecting flight the day after to my final destination. I lost one day in this story.
I filled in a claim but 30 days after, I still received no explanation, no excuse, no information and no refund from Transaero!
This is the first time I experience this type of problem and behaviour from an airline company.
AVOID IT!

"Awful company, beware"

My parents were supposed to fly with Transaero but the connecting flight was delayed so they missed their flight. The representatives were extremely rude talking to them, they offered to them to pay additionally on top of their tickets ($700) almost the cost of the original tickets. So $1400 for two tickets to depart in FIVE days. They also stole from my parents $350 from cancelling that transaction 15 minutes after they did pay. We ended up buying entirely new tickets. NEVER use the company. it is awful.

"TRANSAERO NIGHTMARE "

Review

I was supposed to take a flight from Moscow to Hong Kong on Dec 8.

I checked in two hours before the departure time and I had been waiting in the gate indicated on the ticket. It happened that they have changed the gate number and there was no announcement in English on the screen. I didn't hear my name in any announcements either.

I asked the staff around the original gate and they said the flight was gone. They kicked me out from the boarding zone without arranging a new registration card for me. But they managed to give me back the luggage.

1) If they find a passenger who has checked-in missing on the flight, shouldn't they make an announcement with MY NAME and at least send someone to the original gate and have a look?

2) If they could give me back my bag, the flight didn't depart at all. Why couldn't they get me in?

The airline is terrible. What happened was a disgrace not just for the airline, but the city at-large.

"Worst Airline in the world"

This is the worst flying experience I have ever endured. My meal never arrived, the staff were extremely rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.
Baggage was delayed for two weeks and we were left to get it ourselves from Russian Customs (not a very pleasant experience). Very difficult to put into words just how bad they were.

"Very Suprised !!!"

I have never flown with Transaero before...keep in mind I had a second ticket flying from Salt Lake to JFK first. Before my flight with Transaero stated. I was very shocked to see almost new Boeing Aircraft on every leg of my flight,...coming and going. Aircraft was very clean, flight crew was excellent. Ticket price was great. Only issue, my first leg of my return flight....Odessa to Moscow was cancelled due to heavy fog. I can understand...it happens. But, my flight home was a bit of a disappointment, only because of a 18 hour layover in Moscow two days later. Only due to the original flight being cancelled. I am not sure if Odessa Employees were to blame for bad planing/ or Transaero....but my flight home was much longer than normal. People keep in mind here....some times for one trip....when you are traveling so far....one must buy two sets of Airline tickets, with two different airlines to make the necessary connections. SO, if one flight say Transaero is delayed....then my connecting flight with Delta to get home to Salt Lake was screwed(((((. This happened to me this time. I had to buy a second ticket from Jfk-SLC...because my original flight...Odessa-Moscow-Jfk was cancelled. Transaero could not help with Delta ticket....Delta blamed Transaero for the mess. (((

"No customer service"

Horrible, horrible service!! Do not flight with Transaero! My flight was from Moscow to New York, on May 17th 2013. This day on MCAD was a big car crash, 3 people died, traffic was ridiculous. My flight was at 10:50am, I got to Vnykovo at 10:10, that flight has status of registration, when we got there 1 min late, people from this company didn’t want let me and my child in, they said it’s an airport rule. Can you imaging how frustrated it is and I have a connection in JFK! I went to change my ticket for a different flight, lady at front desk, was not helpful at all! She said that I purchase tickets through internet and you need to call them, over wise purchase tickets again, and flight only next day, she didn’t offer different company to flight with!! I asked to talk to the manager, what I get from it is “It’s not my problem!” I went to a different company “Aeroflot”, there people were more kind to my situation, they got me to the flight at 3:20 pm on a different airport, and thanks God I mad it to my connections!!!
When I flew from NY to Moscow, entertainment was awful; it was only 1 movie for 9 hours flight! Staff took 1 hour to help me after I called them!

"Don't EVER USE TRANSAERO"

A $1000 video camera and $80 new NIKE shoes were stolen from our checked luggage, and no Transaero reps knew what to do about it.
We missed an international flight due to a canceled domestic flight in China, and no one from Transaero was there in the Beijing offices to assist us. Apparently, no one from Transaero works in Beijing on the weekends. If you are claiming to be an airline... I suggest you have employees working at the airport for contingency plans for your customers.
Needless to say, my husband and I were stranded at Beijing airport for 2 days b/c the Transaero reps could not assist us until the next flight... which we had to pay $1600 for. WILL NEVER TAKE AGAIN.
