"Rude, unhelpful and totally uncaring Airline Staff"

Tigerair changed the flight of a minor , from Sydney to Melbourne by a couple of hours such that the minor was not able to get on a connection flight to London. Tigerair staff were rude , uncaring and refused to refund the airfare so that the minor could catch another flight to make the connection. Finally I had to buy a second ticket on another airline so that the minor could catch that flight to London.

I would not recommend this airline to anyone. This airline is set up to Con passengers and to make money. Their rules are set up to benefit them only.

I would recommend to avoid traveling on Tigerair. I intend to spread the word about this airline in as many ways as possible to stop them from cheating passengers !

"The Truth - Tiger Airways MANUAL Baggage Management System"

Why the high risk of baggage loss on Tiger Airways.
Tigers baggage management systems are fully manual. The tag basically means nothing as their system does not track to passenger or track baggage location.
When you you check your baggage it is good luck that it remains with the other baggage booked on a particular flight. However the system cannot confirm that the baggage has been actually put on the flight, received in a destination or transit airport, transferred to the correct (or incorrect) transit flight, or arrived at its final destination.
Due to this there the system enables a high risk of pilferage and redirection as the airline cannot pass accountability to a particular location or even identify at which point in the journey the baggage has been lost. This is in a situation where many of the airports Tiger are servicing internationally have less sophisticated systems, less intrinsic security and all Tigers baggage handling is by agents.
When tracking a bag (yet to be found) in Singapore, the staff were surrounded by 40 "lost" bags, none of which they could align with passengers.
Tigers lost baggage system is dependent upon agency staff, at various terminus airports, identifying remaining uncollected baggage and emailing other agents to advise. Language, poor descriptions, lack of interest and potential pilferage in low security airports all contribute to a dysfunctional system which essentially is a breach of responsibility.
There is no effective way to contact Tiger in the event of a loss. The report may be submitted at the destination airport, but there is no system to record it. The only contact is through their general call centre in the Philippines where the staff there cannot track or advise any direct contact. Though staff try to assist, their supervisor does not even understand their own conditions and believes that Tiger is not responsible to even advise the status of any search for the missing bag, or acknowledge the receipt of a report, for 21 days (incorrect).
The email address, that deals with lost baggage claims will not respond - repeated attempts to even attain acknowledgement of receipt of a fully detailed description will not get a response.
The attitude of many staff in airports and the call centre is that it is a budget airline and therefore lost baggage should be taken by a passenger as an acceptable risk.
Many people complain about Tigers lost baggage. It has one of the highest frequencies of complaint of any airline. However I dont believe that many know why this occurs and I hope that the above provides a greater understanding as to the real risk of flying with Tiger with checked in baggage.
Essentially, do so at your peril - Tigers baggage handling systems, baggage security, lost baggage tracking systems and passenger support and communication basically dont exist.
For me - we are approaching 20 days without anyone being able to provide any information on lost baggage or where redirection occurred.

"TIGER AIRWAYS = WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!"

They simply cannot resolve any issue!!!! Called their contact center in manila for several times! They will just put you on hold for more than 30 mins then tell you that they cannot do anything about it and will just escalate your concern! And one agent intentionally disconnected my call! They will leave you with no choice! All I want is to see our PDF itinerary bec it's a requirement at the airport. We waited for more than a week just to receive it! Then another problem came up, it's about my date of birth, I wanted to upgrade my luggage allowance with scoot and they cannot help me again! WORST EVER!!!!! We will never ever book a flight with TIGER AGAIN!

"Horrible experience"

I traveled on Tiger airways flight TR-2652 from Singapore to Bangalore on April 22nd 2013.
When I reached Bangalore I went to pick up my luggage and one of my bags never arrived. I spoke to a few representatives of Tiger airways and they started looking for the bag. Then they found some other bag (not mine) with my baggage identification tag. So obviously they have wrongly tagged the bags at the Singapore airport and now they are clueless as to what tag my bag has, or where it is!

I have raised several complaints at the tiger airways portal but in vain. have spent several hours filling out forms, writing letters and calling so many people and so many numbers. Have also written to the Tiger airways customer care. Nobody ever responds! Its the worst experience I have had with any airline company. Zero-customer support! I still have no clue about the status of my complaint!

"Horrible service"

Review

Flew flight TT578, MEL-SYD and TT611, SYD-MEL. First flight was cancelled due to bad weather on previous flight. Communication was lacking for around an hour. First they announced that the flight was delayed and after another 20 minutes they announced it was cancelled. After that it was total chaos as the under-staffed crew had to handle 200 passengers. First available flight was 3 days later so we had to drive instead to reach our destination on time. Car rental + gas = $500.

On the returning flight we had originally paid for 20 kg of luggage but as we had more, we tried to upgrade it. It's not possible to do online, where they tell to call them. We tried 3 different call center numbers (One wonders why they have so many) from 2 different phones - all giving a disconnected line. With a smug smile and a condescending attitude we were told at the airport, that it was our problem if their call center were too busy (because of the beforementioned bad weather conditions). We were forced to pay $40 for 2kg extra.

Conclution: Avoid this company. Do yourself a favor and choose someone more competent and service-minded.

"Worst Airline I've ever had. Travelling since I was a teenager, and this airline is just horrible!"

I'm writing this to tell the world to not ever book with Tiger Airways! Choose AirAsia instead. This is an account of my terrible experience with Tiger Airways (Seair). As a gist, Tiger Airways' customer service is terribly poor and deleterious for passengers they strand. It's my first time travelling with this airline, and they have already given me a bad impression which has led me to never book with them again! Please be guided.

Worst airline i've ever had. They didn't email me about my canceled flight from Bangkok-Philippines (August 18, 2012 10:10 AM). No compensation in any way. I waited within the day to receive their email but nothing. If my mom didn't call their customer service hotline, i wouldn't have been able to rebook my flight then. They rebooked me for a flight the next day at night (August 19, 2012 7:05PM), so basically I had to stay for 2 more days. This certain incident caused me a lof of trouble: (1) accommodation and food at my own expenses; (2) not being able to attend the company gathering on August 19, 1pm . If they didn't have the budget to accommodate their stranded passengers, the least thing they could and should have done was apologize. Tiger Airways (Seair) is terrible. If I had to choose between AirAsia and Tiger Airways, I would definitely go for AirAsia because of it's good customer service, convenient check in, and accommodating staff, way to ahead than this substandard airline. The hell with Tiger Airways. I knew later on about some other shitty stuff my friends encountered with this same airline!! Mediocre! Anything could have happened with me staying for 2 more unplanned days in Bangkok while having to compromise my job. Damn!

"only as a last choice for air travel!"

Always last min delay, without informing pax, only board passengers at schedule departure time. Operate from a terrible budget terminal, no seats at gates. Call for boarding is equal to call to queue at gate.

"Avoid at all costs"

Review

Worst airlines by far. Avoid at all costs. Known for last minute delays and cancellation. Was banned in Australia because they didn't adhere to safety regulations. My luggage was tampered with and things were stolen. Went to file report and attendant automatically asked if it was a Tiger Airlines flight, which only goes to show how often it happens. Airlines company impossible to reach directly because they can only be reached by email. Bad experience. Will never fly with Tiger airlines again.
