On Friday, 13/11/2015 I was flying with Tarom in the flight RO273 from Bucharest to Athens.
I had check in and drop luggage by 17:30. And at the time of the boarding I had to visit the ladies room. So, your airlines didn't announce my name on the loudspeaker and the aiplane just left without me. When I go to your desk on the Otopeni airport the employee laught with the situation and he didn't try to help me.
Furthermore, I went to the lost and found and my luggage was traveling to Athens without me (I am informed that this is prohibited). So after the land of this flight I went again on the desk and there was another employee (woman this time) that tell that she cannot know where is my luggage. Her behaviour was unacceptable she was screaming at me that this is not her job , she even tell me that if I don't leave from her desk she will call the police. After a big argue she fainally call someone and informed her that my luggage is at lost and found in Eleutherios Venizelos Athens Airport.
"TAROM Never Again"
I have been been trying to contact TAROM for the past month. Instead of dealing with my request, TAROM blocked me from access their facebook page and will not let me comment in the page. They also deleted all my previous complaints.
I wonder if this is their standard approach to a customer complaint: IGNORE, DELETE, FORGET.
So before this also gets deleted and this account blocked from commenting here I want to share some things about this company. TAROM is a company that:
1. Offers no compensation for delayed flights even if the customer
wants to claim the money spent on the taxi ride because the flight
arrived so delayed that there were no buses.
2. Offers no refreshments to the passengers when their flight is delayed for 6h.
3.Instead of resolving the customer's issues, ignores his emails and
blocks him from commenting in their Facebook page.
4. Deletes all the complaints from their webpage and pretends it never happened.
5. Gives you 30 days to solve your claim and ignores you for 45 days.
6. At the end offers you a discount for you next trip meaning that
instead of compensating you, you have to buy them another ticket for a
7. Thinks that it is unreasonable to donate the refunded (taxi fare +
meals bought while waiting at the airport) to a charity.
8. I will never flight with them again.
9. I will not recommend to any if my friends/colleagues.
"Worst experience ever"
We had bought our tickets months in advance, direct flights (Bucharest- Geneva). They cancelled our flight 1 month before the departure and booked us on new flights 3 days after the initial departure. We had to write a few times before they booked us on new flights on the same day as the initial departure (Bucharest-Munich-Geneva). The day of our departure, when we checked in, the ground staff told us we didn't have any booking for the Munich-Geneva and looked completely unconcerned and barely polite until we showed them our booking confirmation. Then, still acting like if they didn't care at all about us, they finally did something looking really annoyed and booked us new flights, one of them leaving with four hours delay....
"Tarom is one of the worst airlines out there."
They lost our baby car seat and nobody knows where it is. Nobody contacted us to let us know what is going on and they are closed on weekends so if you have any issues good luck. They will sell you a ticket 24/7 but they will not help you after you bought it.
I hope they go broke.
"Not more than a trip with the bus"
There is no advantage in flying with TAROM over other airlines that provide cheaper comparable services. Let's take for example what happened to us: we go to baggage drop-off - our seats are confirmed (reserved with online check-in, party of two) and at boarding they tell us that one of the seats was changed for some idiotic reason... I have never experienced this poor services with no other major airline (like Lufthansa,KLM,LOT), which leads me to believe this company is one from the low-end regarding services but with high prices. Even the services onboard the plane don't justify the prices...
"Apart from Check In TAROM is fine"
My initial experience of TAROM at T4 was not the best. Having checked in online OK through their website I thought armed with my Skyteam Gold card I could simply go into the separate Skyteam business class check in area and drop my bag off. O no no no. The person behind the Alitalia desk said this was not possible today but I could ask at the Alitalia desk in front of the normal check in queue. However it was absolutely chaotic so I joined the TAROM economy queue. There were two check in counters open manned by Alitalia ladies. At one desk two schoolkids obviously had a problem with checking in but instead of asking them to stand aside they were there blocking one check in desk for the whole 20 minutes I queued up.
Once on board the full Boeing everything was fine. On board service was fine and the inflight pasta meal was OK and wine and beer free of charge.
The internal flights from Bucharest to Timisoara and back were fine. They use a Boeing which is just as well as it was full. There is just time for peanuts and a soft drink during the 40 minute flight.
The only slight downside of the flight back to LHR from Bucharest was the slightly chaotic check in - but there was a large party of school kids.
All in all TAROM is fine.
