Very enjoyable
Love the direction that VA is going with its branding, customer service and product. On our outbound direct flight from MEL the crew were excellent, very professional whilst remaining friendly and energetic throughout the 6hr flight. As it was a day time flight the 737 was comfortable although its a very basic business class seat even for a 737. They also can only furnish you with a minimal selection of beverages due to the small galley. The wifi inflight entertainment worked well but to make full use of it bring your own ipad instead of using one of VA's and make sure you download the app before you get on the plane. Our flight home via SYD was a late night flight and the seats were no good for sleep. The staff were professional but lacked a little warmth. I kid you not we disembarked at gate 1, used electronic passport control, picked up our bags and had checked in for our domestic flight in less than 20 minutes. Most of the staff and the domestic check in were to busy comparing nails but the manager took care of us. Only in Australia would 6 hours be considered a short haul international flight ;) but seriously this flight is really calling out for a bigger plane for passenger comfort and I'm sure they could fill it as all our flights were completely full.

RUDE SERVICE
the person who doing the check in is so rude. racist. always makes trouble and ask you to pay more for baggage. she always look for something to create trouble. Can not act fair. RUDE RUDE services and worker.

If you surf or like your luggage looked after fly with another airline!
IF YOU ARE A SURFER TRAVEL WITH ANOTHER AIRLINE! After travelling back from Denpsar to Sydney I returned home and opened my board bag and one of the boards (New prior to the trip) was demolished beyond repair. It looked like they had caught in a door or had a shark loose in the cargo bay. After complaining to Garuda they basically couldnt care. They said they take no responsibility for luggage and they outsource the ground crew staff so take no responsibility in what happens to your equipment. POOR experience which only highlights the poor leg room, crap food they serve, lack of service agents at the airport meaning you wait longer to checkin in than other airlines and one of the most terrible air safety records in the world. Will ensure no one I know travels with them. Worst airline!!

Great Service
Fantastic service from the time you check in to the time you get off the plane. The staff are always very helpful & very friendly.There is over head tv screens which offer great movies or you can hire a video on demand for a small fee of around $10 but thats a small price to pay. The meals you had to pay for in economy but the prices are pretty competitve with the prices you would pay at a cafe/shop. I have had more than the allowed 20 kilos on numerous times but have never had to pay extra as yet.
