Booking NIGHTMARE
We Booked online on the ANTIQUATED http://thaiairways.com website. The 1st time we tried this, the credit card processing didn't complete properly, however I carefully checked all the details of the booking submission. The next day after checking with the bank that the card had not been debited we tried again, however the http://thaiairways.com website had remembered (cookies) our submission. I skipped through most steps as I know I had correctly filled the forms the previous evening and this time the card was accepted. (why it wasn't the previous evening, I don't know). Then (in minutes) I noticed that my partner's surname had been incorrectly substituted with my surname as I was the one booking the flights in what sems to be an error in their cookies form completion software. Well you cannot change the error online and we ended having to call Bangkok and wait 20+ minutes on the phone for someone to answer the call. (Neanderthals) They then advised that we had to PHYSICALLY drive 45 minutes to their local office and PAY USD$65 to change the surname! REALLY???? This is still within their own claimed 6 hour window of acceptance from booking!! All they try to do is CHEAT you. This is from an antiquated airline operating 25+-year-old planes!!! NEVER again. I would rather fly poverty pack Air Asia! What a terrible attitude towards their customers!! NEVER AGAIN !!

never fly scoot.
Scoot is a very poor budget airline that provides absolutely nothing. Their cabin crew are disinterested in serving you. All they care is selling you useless duty free junk, and overpriced food and drinks. Be prepared to bring your own food and water. They charge for every little thing including transferring you at the transit airport. I'm not a fussy person but this airline is the worst i've experienced.

Can't get a glass of water
I was out of money but I had not expected Scoots staff on the flight not to let me have a glass of water. I complained. It was a wate of time. Water becomes all important when you cannot get it

greatsage
I have had the misfortune of flying qantas domestically and on international routes for the best part of 20 years. Qantas staff from terminal to destination are arrogant, rude and unprincipalled however they,re dedication and consistancy for abysmal service is truly astounding and without peer. I avoid this airline as often as possible and advise you do the same irrespective of fare price. The sooner this economic disaster fails to recieve its annual government bailout to compensate for its severe lack of basic ethics and business acumen and is replaced by a respectable asian carrier the better off aussie travellers will be. Goodriddance qantas.

Getting a bit vanilla
Unfortunately our flight was re-timed and we had to overnight in Sydney. I'm unsure why but QF put us on a flight the day before but not on a QF flight with a business cabin as paid for with FF miles which leaves around lunch time but a Jetstar codeshare that left early in the morning. On the upside they provided hotel in Sydney which was very good unlike the bus transfer to get there which left us standing in the rain by the curbside for an hour. Check in was easy and express security cards given for immigration at all airports. Qantas first lounge still one of the best in the world. The QF flights to and from BKK were on an A330-300 which was fairly clean. Unfortunately they are still using the angled lie-flat seats with the temperamental AVOD which has plenty of choice and average screen quality. Food good and bags quick to come on and off. The inflight staff were good and chatty and the "turn down" service where they make your bed up for you certainly helps with those hard seats. But you can't help but feel that there is something missing and I think its in the QF product itself, it seems to have lost its identity. There was nothing wrong with the flights at all, staff were efficient and on our return trip had some real pizzaz which is nice but the hard product is just so vanilla. The new uniforms when they come will help but the seats and colour schemes in the business cabin are just so toned down that it really drains any vibrance out of the overall product.

Worst Business In The Sky
The worst business class check in service I have encounted check in took 20 minutes at Sydney International Airport. 3 staff just sitting talking doing nothing. I asked for assistance to put bags on conveyor I was told no. I explained I had a damaged arm I was told my problem not there's. Lounge was truly awful worst I have seen. Lounge staff told me that I was not able to complain as there was no one to complain to. Minimal hot food choices 3 soups or spaghetti. The spaghetti was still semi frozen with the smallest serve I have ever seen. Tiny bar with very basic choices. Very small basic buffet selection cheap dips a few deep fried frozen items & not much else. 1 waitress for whole lounge. The so called sports bar was just set up like a bistro with TV's & no food except fruit. No TV to inform you of flight had to keep asking staff. Stewards on flight fantastic. Food very average. I asked for a different wine none available I asked for a Baileys they had run out. Slide bed was truly awful I had no sleep at all so uncomfortable. I was hoping for a bit of rest at Kuala Lumpur Subang International Airport. The business class lounge was larger that Sydney but truly awful after 4 attempts I gave up getting a cup of coffee the girl was to busy texting on her phone & talking. I asked for a pot of tea what is that the girl asked. Hot food choices, chicken sausages, baked beans, grilled tomato or fried noodles. I asked for eggs none available I was told. Toast yes but no butter. I arrived at lounge at 5.30am staff were all just sitting around talking & texting on mobile phones. 1 was even laying on the floor. shower was truly filthy. No attempt to clean. Provisions non existent. Staff did not care at all.
