"Humiliating Experience in Business Class"

I travelled in Swiss Business Class on 28th May 2017 while my wife and a 2 year child were travelling in Economy Class just a few seats away from me. Now one would wonder why this arrangement; but this is how it was for some reasons. Now my 2 year old wanted to meet me and my wife walked upto my seat together with the 2 year old and left him with me for a few minutes and went back. The 2 year old was quietly sitting with me on my lap and watching the TV, sipping my apple juice and munching a few nuts offered by the airline. After a few minutes the airline crew chief Claudia Treicher walks over to me and gives me a long lecture on mannerisms and said this is not how "WE" do it. God knows what she meant by "WE" as if I am from a different planet. I was trying to guess the definition of WE during the whole flight - it might be the SWISS people!! She ends the conversation saying that it is her decision that the child should return to the Economy Class. Is this the way that they are supposed to speak to their customers and annoy them. She could have done the whole communication differently in a simple sweet sentence requesting me rather than a long lecture on mannerisms and imposing her decision on me as if I had broken some Swiss law by bringing the child to meet me in the Business Class. In the last 5 years I have taken the Swiss Business Class flight approx 10 times - I am now thinking if this loyalty for Swiss should continue. I felt horrible and agitated throughout the flight and I hope I don't get to see Claudia Treicher again.

"Fantastic Travel Experience"

I have been flying with SWISS for almost a year now and here I shall review a recent trip I did with them.

I flew from Hong Kong to London Heathrow via Zurich onboard SWISS last Friday and I can say that this airline does a very good job of taking care of their customers. I flew LX139 from Hong Kong to Zurich, leaving Hong Kong at midnight and arriving Zurich early in the morning. The aircraft is an Airbus A340-300, kept in very good condition and cabin is very clean. Check in queues were short in Hong Kong and staff were efficient.

Onboard the aircraft, the Economy class cabin and toilets are very clean, legroom is of standard size, so unless you are immensely tall you'll have no problems fitting in. Luggage bins are spacious and not too densely occupied. Individual screens with Video/Music on Demand are fitted to every seat and contains a nice variety of entertainment though the system is slightly old and not too responsive. Also another small thing I noticed was that the seats aren't that well padded and could get a bit hard after sitting for hours on it but reclining to the maximum solves the problem. I was able to get around 5 hours of sleep, which is excellent. The food is great, we had dinner and breakfast and both were hot meals with a nice array of side dishes which actually filled me up for the 12 hour flight. Furthermore, the staff are very friendly and their service is excellent. Water and coffee are served intermittently throughout the flight, and passengers can go to the galley at the back to help themselves with snacks and soft drinks throughout the flight. Lights on and lights off were done at reasonable times, ensuring that passengers get enough rest. Landing was on schedule despite a slight delay when departing from Hong Kong.

My second flight to London left only 40 minutes after landing in Zurich so I did not have enough time to enjoy the airport. This flight was flown by an Airbus A321 fitted with the standard Euro product (3+3 seating with the first few rows modified for business class), the seats were comfortable and surprisingly spacious with a nice amount of legroom. The staff were also very nice on this flight, and passengers received a sandwich, drinks and the SWISS chocolate. Landing in London was later than schedule due to late departure from Zurich and holding when approaching London, but overall, enjoyable. I will definitely recommend SWISS for any traveler and a further good thing about them is that they offer tickets cheaper than other european airlines like Lufthansa or British Airways.

"Pathetic night at Zurich airport for "

We have flight booked from Athens to Amsterdam via Zurich on 28th December2014.As there were lots of snowfall at Zurich all flight was delayed same happened with us so flight from Athens to Zurich was late around 1.5hours or so. We had same airline connecting flight from Swiss but that didn’t wait. So we missed our connecting flight for 20-30min only. After that it was even more painful when we were sent to transfer desk. It was long queue of around 400-500 people and few were standing for 7-8Hrs. We wait long and around 11PM they informed that transfer desk counter will be closed soon till 6AM in the next morning. So it was bad luck for us we had to sleep in the airport it sleep after having a hard sandwich provided by Swiss.We sleep in the queue only. Next day we reached counter around 11AM in the morning it took so much of time because only two desk was operating even if there were a long queue.

Finally we got a train ticket from Zurich to Amsterdam as all flight was full though the lady tried hard to find all option.

"No capability to handle emergency situation.."

We had a flight from Athens to Amsterdam Via Zurich on 28th December, both were Swiss flights.
Due to heavy snowfall in Swiss, the flight was delayed from Athens. In spite of having the same connecting flight, the 2nd flight from Zurich left for Amsterdam before we reach.
We were sent to a travel desk with more than 500 people in a queue in front of us. While the line was moving in a very little pace, it was announced that counter will be closed within 30 min. At around 11.30 the counters were closed with all the people lying in the queue . Passengers were left without any hotel on the ground with few sandwich and water services and thin mattresses.

While this flight delay issue was expected and experienced by Swiss airlines before, they would have taken proper steps for the passengers without harassing them.

They even did not open all their counters.. 2 to 3 counters were open, while there were around 10 counters.

The staffs were not helpful at all.

We got train tickets to Amsterdam next day afternoon..

HOPE I DO NOT HAVE TO AVAIL A SWISS FLIGHT ANYMORE. AND WILL ADVISE THE SAME TO MY FRIENDS.

"The worst flight i have ever experienced"

We had a night flight..it was my first flight with my baby and he is a one year old..i flew more than 30 times before..and this flight was the worst ever..not because of the actual flight or money...it was the people that worked that night..as soon as we got on the board we asked them if they have any empty seats or if they are fully booked...the answer was:i cant now, im doing something else...and then she left...so we asked again a different person...he said no..all seats were booked...i totally understand that...because my son is only one year old, he didnt need a ticket, we just had to bring the car seat for him..so after a one hour or two when he was asleep, we placed the car seat in front of us on the floor...the steward came and speaking very loud he said, we cant have him on the floor, because if the plane had any difficulties the oxygen mask is too far away from him..i understand that...but he should have been very quiet and plus if there are any difficulties, the buckle in sign comes first...when i would of course took him in my lap..so then i asked them about the bassinet...we were supposed to get it like every family with baby...they said that he is too old...and since i have never flew with my baby before i didnt know...so i asked him what weight is appropriate for the bassinet and told them that he was only 26 pounds...they all looked at me weird and asked me how much is it in kilograms.. so i told them that its about 12kg and they were like, uhm i dont think he fits there because he already walks...and when i asked them to show me the bassinet they said that they are sure he wont fit in there..which just showed that they just didnt wanted to take it out...btw on the flight back we flew with lufthansa and their bassinet was just perfect for him..so if all the airlines have the same sizes then it proofs how terrible they were..anyway, after that conversation, my husband asked them if they had any extra pillows...they said no...after one hour later two of them showed up right next to our seats, one from one side and another from the other side...they were talking loudly and laughing while they were looking for something in the storage above us...all people were sleeping, according my baby and the little girl next to us and they just didnt care and laughed..and then they took out two pillows and brought them to another person...after that they saw my husband looking at them so they were like..ohh i think you wanted a pillow right? here you go...unbelievable...after couples of hours later, again everybody was sleeping, they came to our seats and talking loudly asked people sitting right next to us with the little girl if they want to go on different seats because they have one seat open...they people never asked them for extra seat, so they said no...and then in stead of asking us they just left..then they came just couple hours before we were landing if we wanted that seat...just terrible terrible experience...i will never ever choose them again..it was such a difference from lufthansa, the flight back was the one that i was scared of,that my son will go crazy because it was the day flight, but everything was very good..and this night flight that was supposed to go so smooth it was a nightmare..they woke me up and my husband at least three times and my son about four times...maybe the airlines are fine, but they should be very careful what kind of people they are hiring..because they just caused loosing not just three people but at least 15 of them...i told about my experience everybody that travels very often...thats pretty much it

"Cancelled flight and mislaid baggage ruined trip !"

On the 27th April 2012, my daughter and I flew on LX 237 from Cairo to Zurich with each one suitcase checked through to London City Airport.

Because I bought the tickets separately online, I could not get seats on the same flight so I was booked on LX 460 to LCY at 08.45 on the 28th April 2012 and my daughter on LX 450 to LCY, same day, but at 07.15.

LX 450 was initially delayed somewhat, supposedly due to bad weather at LCY, but was then cancelled, even though there was no longer any bad weather at LCY, as all subsequent flights flew as scheduled.

When I arrived at LCY, I discovered that my suitcase had not arrived and this was not received by myself until the afternoon of the 1st May 2012, some 3 ½ days late.

My daughter was not flown to London until the 15.20 flight, LX 324, over 8 hours late, and then to London Heathrow and not to London City Airport.

Furthermore, my daughter’s suitcase also did not arrive and was only delivered some 2 ½ days later to her hotel on the late afternoon of the 30th April 2012. Her suitcase had been locked but the lock had been broken off and the contents of the bag had clearly been tampered with. Fortunately nothing was missing.

The reason for this trip was for my daughter and I to attend, on the afternoon of the 28th April 2012, the 82nd Birthday Luncheon of my mother, in South London, and then to travel later in the afternoon with my mother and brother’s family down to Portmouth, where we all were to participate in the wedding and reception of my niece.

Because of the cancellation of my daughter’s flight and her subsequent very late arrival at the wrong airport in London, coupled with the serious delays in both of our suitcases, we basically missed these events.

"I don´t had enough space"

I flew from BUD to HKG via ZRH and back. Both connecting short flights has been OK. Trouble I was on long flights from ZRH-HKG-ZRH. I sat there in row 31 in the Airbus 340-300. Sat in front of me one German speaking sir at spacious exits throughout. He ignored my convenience. In time without of food, all the time he lay like a pig! On the way back another German speaking sir in the same place but on other side, was even more pig! He absolute ignored me during the flight. I asked the stewardess for more space for eating she can do nothing, because the sir is asleep! What a willingness? The second stewardess also not done anything. The only satisfaction that I wore plenty of wine. Thank you .... The low cost airline is really more comfortable. I had a good opinion about SWISS, but this experience and arrogance of the two gentlemen I changed it to 180 degrees. And my four friends also. So we are on flights to Asia be faithful again for asian companies and no more SWISS.

"Swiss International - a good option from Birmingham to Eastern Europe"

I travel extensively to Eastern Europe and since Czech Airlines abandoned its loyal UK passengers I have flown several times from BHX via Zurich on Swiss International. The flights have always been generally on time, which is essential due to the short turn around in ZRH. From BHX they use either the Dash or the Fokker aircraft. Although smaller they are quite comfortable. On board you usually get quite a nice sandwich, a drink (wine or beer free of charge) and of course a nice bar of Swiss chocolate.
Travellers should consider the Swiss option even if flying from LHR. It only adds about 60 - 90 minutes to the journey and the price can be considerably lower than the direct option. The only flea in the ointment is the fact that transit passengers have to go through security once more at ZRH (not the airlines fault and I have not missed a connection yet.)

"Great airline"

Review

On time departure and early arrival. Business class section was nice and quiet with great seats, very comfortable. Excellent meals and friendly and attentive service. All in all a great experience.
