"Poor Customer Service/Unprofessional Behavior"

Review

My wife and I flew to Bangkok (BKK ) from Tel Aviv (TLV) via Amman on March 20, 2015.

First of all, I would like you to know that I specifically chose RJ because I thought it would have better customer service than the other choices we had.
I was very wrong.

We recently returned from an Istanbul trip last week, and Turkish Airlines is so much better than RJ in terms of friendliness and customer service. It was really too bad that we already booked our flight with RJ before we flew with Turkish Airlines.

We were on RJ 341 from Tel Aviv (TLV). As soon as we checked in our one piece of checked-in luggage, we were told that we also have to check in our carry-ons because they are too large for the flight to Amman. We were assured that we would be able to get them in Amman so we could take them with us aboard our connecting flight to Bangkok (BKK) on RJ 182. We cheerfully agreed.

Problem 1. While waiting for Flight 341 in TLV, 3 gate changes occurred. There were not any announcements made. I only found out about them because I was looking at the gate monitors where the information was different from the Airport monitors, and on our tickets.

Problem 2. When we were about to board, Gaby the planeside manager rudely told us we cannot get our bags in Amman because they are not standard bags and that we will get them in BKK instead. He said he was watching us while were checking in and he was pretty sure they were too big. We have travelled with the same bags around the world without any problems, except now. I was told to take out everything that I might need, but that would have been everything in the carry-on. I had my CPAP machine and clothes that I needed for my conference that I wanted to make sure arrived with me when I get to Bangkok. I pleaded with him to just at least try, if they won’t fit, I would gladly concede. He even had the audacity to tell the crew that one of the reasons for the delay was our bags! RJ341 was supposed to board at 2300, we did not start boarding until 2340 and finally took off at past midnight.

That was not the end. We encountered more unfriendliness and rude behavior aboard our flight to BKK.

Problem 3. During our entire flight to BKK (RJ 182), every flight attendant in the Economy section seemed to be very bothered that they were serving us. There were sighs and rolling of eyes when they served us. I have to say that one lady gave a hint of a smile when we said "thank you" after she gave us two cups of water we asked for. My wife and I are very disappointed with RJ's customer service. The way they handled our concerns was very unprofessional. Our whole flight experience with RJ was very stressful. I am not looking forward to our return flight on March 27. I am not going to fly RJ ever again!

I am going to publish my complaint in every website I could find in the hope that they will improve their services and so other people will not experience what we went through. Honestly, they might just ignore my complaint but, I will have to take the chance and hopefully someone in RJ will listen and actually make some positive changes. I will be waiting for their reply. I hope I will at least get an acknowledgement before we fly back on March 27.

"Not Royal at all!!!"

Review

I flew from New York to Bangkok Via Amman, with Royal Jordanian. I requested special meal four days before my departure. When I asked for the food I requested I was told that they haven't received any request. So I had to survive on soft drinks for 10:30 hrs. Flight attendants attitude towards customer of pathetic, lack of professionalism and enthusiasm.

"Never ever again"

Review

On a recent return flight to London via Amman I had many issues with this airline. Firstly the boarding was so disorganized on all flights that we were delayed on every flight. Flight attendants were surly and rude- one requested that my husband provide a doctors report to prove he has back problems, to recline his seat, as the passenger behind him was upset that the seat was reclined-since WHEN have you ever been challenged on a flight for reclining your seat??? Food was absolutely disgusting on all flights taken. The airline have neglected to send avios and tier points to its affiliate airline, even though they had our club numbers , both on the original booking and when we requested them on check in. It is absolutely the WORST airline I have travelled on, and I have been on quite a few airlines on most classes.

"disappointing, DISGUSTING AND PATHETIC EXPERIENCE"

Review

Passenger - my mother, 62 years old
Flight scedule one way - Mumbai-Amman-Chicago-St.Louis on 27July 2013

All was fine until my mother reached Amman Airport.
At Amman Airport, she was asked for a return ticket from USA back to India.
When she mentioned she did not have one, the immediate reaction was that 'you cannot fly forward'.
In front of her eyes boarding passes from Amman to Chicago and Chicago to Saint Louis were torn and garbaged.
She was made to walk from one end of buildings to other ends in loop from sales office to immigration office and so on.
The only option they put before her to continue her journey was purchase a returrn ticket.
She mentioned to them that her son (me) was in Saint Louis only for some time so it was not confirmed that return would be from origin Saint Louis itself, hence a one way ticket was reserved.
The immigration officers were too rude and offered almost no help, did not een allow her to use the restrooms.
All the while they were speaking their native language and giving her no idea as to what crime was committed.
The Officials decided to call my cellphone in USA at 1 am in the night central US time and did not even leave a voice mail. They wanted to ask me to purchase the return ticket.
no voice mail was left, and they started blasting my mother at Amman sayinh your son dosen't even receive calls!!

A gentleman from one of the immigration office, eventually turned up and proposed to let her fly forward on his responsibility mentioning to the other officials that she has a valid US visa and that is her end destination.
New boarding passes were issued and and she was allowed to board when te flight was 10 min prior to departture.

the big questions that arise here are -
If Jordan has a policy to allow only those passengers from India to fly forward to USA then in first place why was my mother allowed to board from Mumbai to Amma in first place?
How and why did Royal Jordanian employees at Mumbai airport did not even think about this for a flash of a second.
If this matter was brought to attention in first place all the mental harrasment could have been avoided.

Secondly, a lady 62 years old, atleast show some respect, she has a confimred ticket, a valid visa to her end destination (where she was visited earlier also).

Me, my wife, my parents, my in laws haev earlier travelled one way using Kuwait , Qatar, AeroFlot, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic, British, Air India and United.
This was first and last and definitely disappointig, disgusting anfd worst experience with Jordan Airways, a ticket purchsed in the last days due to emergency at an elevated price.

Airlines who cannot respect passengers when they have been given business was a first time experience.
Everyone please keep these points in mind while flying Royal Jordanian.

"Close to worst i have ever experienced"

Review

Just terrible. rude, hot, horrible. Even damaged my hearing on the in-flight entertainment as it was turned up to 100% and also must have been faulty and blasted my ears and made them numb. They could not care any less. I would travel to Jordan again to see friends, but this airline is horrible.
