TAP adds Ghana to its African destinations
The flights will depart from Lisbon at 17:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive in Accra at 21:55. The return flights will leave Accra at 23:45 on these days and arrive in Lisbon at 05:55 of the following day.
With this addition, TAP will have 13 destination in Africa and 61 flights a week, or 63 in the summer peak season, thereby stepping up its strategic positioning in Africa.
Accra is the second destination of West Africa with the most traffic to and from Europe. At present it only has direct flights to five European cities (Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, London and Rome).
The flight to Accra takes around five hours. The start of operations to Ghana will enable TAP to take advantage of the geographical location of its hub and offer good connections to and from its European destinations.
Accra is one of the 11 new destinations announced by TAP for this year, most of which have already started to operate. This reflects the airline's investment in expanding its network in all the continents on which it operates (Europe, Africa and North and South America).
With this substantial increase in its supply of destinations, TAP is stepping up its efforts to attract tourists to Portugal, strengthening the strategic importance of the Lisbon hub and providing the domestic market with access to a variety of new routes.
