Ryanair announced it would open its 48th base at Billund Airport in March 2012 with 2 based aircraft and 19 routes, delivering 800,000 passengers p.a.
In addition to Ryanair’s existing 14 Billund routes, the airline will open five new routes from Billund to Carcassonne, Corfu, Krakow, Venice and Zadar, all of which go on sale on ryanair.com tomorrow (7th Dec) and bring to 19 the number of routes offered from Billund by Ryanair in summer 2012.

Continuing the expansion of its low-fare, nonstop service from Kansas City, Frontier Airlines today said it will launch nonstop seasonal service between Kansas City (MCI) and Tampa (TPA). The twice-weekly service will operate Feb. 15 through April 14, 2012, on Tuesday or Wednesday and on Saturday.

Air China will launch non-stop, four weekly flights from Gatwick to Beijing starting on the 2nd May 2012. The flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with A330-200.
Services will depart Gatwick Airport at 13.15 and arrive at Beijing airport at 06:25 local time the following day. Return journeys will leave Beijing at 01:35 and arrive at Gatwick at 05:50 local time the same day.

Scandinavian Airlines has ordered new seats for its shorth-haul fleet. The next generation seats from Recaro offer improved comfort for customers, who get additional leg room, whilst the lightweight seats weigh less and are thereby better for the environment.
