Qatar is the first middle eastern airline I have travelled and we flew from MEL to LHR via DOHA which was because the flight to CDG was cancelled. On the return we flew ATH to MEL via DOHA. On every sector the service left a lot to be desired. Between meals you press the call button and ask for a drink and the response is to help yourself to whats in the crew galley. About 20 people at all times congregate in the galley going through the trolleys for drinks and snacks. looking at sandwiches that were unlabled and passengers opening up the cling wrap and looking in side dirty fingers and all to decide it really wasn't what they want to then re wrap and put back into the trolley for the next person. Furthermore every sector was at 100 per cent capacity and the seats recline so much that your nose is in the persons hair in front of you. In comparison other airlines really do offer a better product.

A fabulous flight - both legs in the 777 which is a spacious and comfortable airline to fly in. Service form check in at Heathrow to arrival in Melbourne was excellent - and good lounge access in Heathrow new Terminal 4. Change of plane in Doha was very quick - hardly had time to use the Business Class Terminal. Departure on time and arrivals were on time. It is a long flight but very comfortable and would certainly fly QATAR again. ON such a long flight the meals become a bit out of order, but the menus is as requested which is great.

A long flight made perfect with the friendly and excellent service. The 777 aircraft was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Will definitely continue to fly with QATAR Airways in the future
