"DO NOT USE!"
I found my flight with Lufthansa horrible! Firstly we had 3 adults with 3 children under 12 months. We arrived at the airport at 3am ready for our 6:30am flight. We were the 2nd people there waiting to check in only to find they didn't open the desks until 5am!!!! By this time about 150 people were queuing at the desk. The Lufthansa staff then walked in and told everyone to self check in at some machines! This was chaotic bearing in mind we had 3 screaming babies! And then we couldn't check in ourselves so after queuing for hours we had to queue again so someone at the desk could check us in!! Then the man behind the desk made us feel very uncomfortable about checking in! After checking in we then got on our 10 hour flight. Having booked the bassinettes we was looking forward to putting the babies down. Then after take off a lady approached me saying there was only 2 bassinettes available, I said this would be fine however she returned appologetic saying she had given all our bassinettes to other passengers by mistake an now couldn't take them back. Therefore we had a 10 hour flight with 3 babies between 3 of us and no cots. We couldn't eat, drink or sleep!! Absolute nightmare! Not one of your team offered help or support with anything! In fact, one of your team approached me as my son was crying and said I couldn't put him on the floor for 2 mins as he was throwing himself around! We had 2 strangers sat in between us which was a nightmare as you can imagine with 3 tired babies with no cot. There was no food for our babies (9 month old twins and 16 month old) and when we asked for some they said they had none spare :-/ so now our kids weren't only tired but also starving! I asked them to warm bottles up and was made to feel uncomfortable about it! Absolutely ridiculous! Your staff was also speaking in german to eachother right next to us which made me feel uneasy! Our flight home was much better with Lufthansa with much better service! But my flight there was horrendous so I will not risk flying with these again!! We flew 27 hours to Australia with my 13 week old son and it was fantastic! I was very disappointed with your service!
After a previous bad experience with a SWISS I was a little worried about a trip with Lufthansa, but everything was different. After also perfect route from BUD to PEK via MUC with the A340-600 with great sevice and nice staff I was looking forward to the return flight with the A380-800 and was also why... The aircraft new and comfortable with enough space to sit and relax with a pretty decent offer entertainment system. Food tasty and sufficient. Metal cutlery added an even better feeling of eating. The highlight of my trip was incredibly nice and helpful staff who made my trip by plane from one of my greatest experiences in the aircraft at all. I want to thank to Martina Lissak and E. Alexandrova as well as all the staff in my section of the aircraft and tolerant passengers seated around a really pleasant flight. I really ENJOYED it! Thanks again.
"A380 - Never Again"
FRA to SFO - The most uncomfortable plane. The seat bottoms are too thin. The seat backs recline too far. Lufthansa flight attend. had to ask each traveler to push their seat back up everytime there was a meal served. If you sit by the window and you need to go to the toilet, you need to ask the center and aisle seat person to exit PLUS the center and aisle person in the row in front to put their seat up. 4 people need to move to get out.
"Not satisfied with Lufthansa"
I have given my review based on my flight on Lufthansa from LAX to FRA.
Issues I had:
1) No personal entertainment system. Only overhead TV's showing crappy cartoons and sad movies.
2) Baggage policy from USA allows one 23 kilo bag?? Got charged $70 for second bag. Total rip off.
3) Very tight seats. In fact I threw away my newspaper as it was reducing my legroom.

"NIGHTMARE for customer 'service'"
My husband and I have had such a terrible experience with Lufthansa that I requested them to please permanently delete our miles. We will not be needing them in this lifetime since the ground service staff at the Bangalore airport said that they had done us a big favor by "helping us out" and that we could choose whether we wanted to fly Lufthansa or not. You decide whether they helped us out or not...
We flew to India to get married last month (DTW-CHI-FRA-BLR). On our flight out, part of our ticket was accidentally deleted at the detroit airport check-in counter (we were told due to a ticketing problem arising from the merger between Lufthansa and United). The customer service rep at the Chicago airport made an extra effort to ensure that our tickets would be re-instated before we reached Frankfurt but it took an hour of standing around at the counter there.On our way back, my husband was not only made to stand at the check-in counter until 30min before his flight but was HARASSED for over an hour. All because we packed a second small bag after checking your online information for baggage rules (our tickets were booked in March 2012) AND then calling the Lufthansa US office to confirm that we were allowed 2 checked-in bags. ALL THE INFORMATION FROM THEIR WEBSITE AND THE PHONECALL (which they should be able to find on record) confirmed that 2 bags would be checked in complimentarily. At the check-in counter, AFTER checking in both bags, their staff demanded that one of the bags be paid for. After over an hour of making my husband wait at the counter and move things from his personal item bag to his carry-on, etc., they finally gave him a second complimentary bag checked in and made him pay for a carry on. The whole situation was so stressful because they had thrown his bags on the conveyor and couldn’t retrieve them even though they wanted to, at the same time, they wouldn’t let him proceed to security. All through this, they were SO RUDE. If they had an iota of customer service sense, they might have checked the baggage allowance rules online for the tickets that we had booked.
In the end, if the airline staff itself is stressing out the customer, obviously they have no interest in making their customers comfortable, let alone happy!So no more Lufthansa for us or our family members. It was way too traumatic!!!
"Do not fly them in Business class"
On this trip I not only flew Lufthansa in business class but Royal Jordanian and El Al. Lufthansa in nearly all points was far below these other airlines. Lufthansa food selection and quality as well as quantity was lacking and was far below these other airlines. There purser was rude and unkind. More worried about getting to the next passenger and keeping it on time for her service schedule than helping passengers.
They also severely limited the number of meals of each choice assuring that many passengers would not have their food choice. Their simple reply was we say that on the menu card.
I seat was only ok, but I understand that they are now thankfully changing their seats over the next few years.

I flew from Italy via Munich to Los Angeles with my 10 month old daughter in jan... I had a little handy baby stroller which I was supposed to collect from the aeroplane's door in Munich but somehow I left for the bus which took me to the airport and I didn't get my stroller. At Munich airport I had a transit for 3 hours and I was freaking out how I will carry my little baby and a hand carry of 6 kilos or so for 3 hours, then I went to the customer service desk and they told me to go to the kids centre area which was just 2 mins walk on the same floor. So I went there and from there I received the customer care beyond my expectation. I had blocked ears from my 2 hour flight from Italy to Munich which gave me a bad headache so the lady there in the kids play centre offered me the best help she could, immediately she gave me another Lufthansa handy stroller, she gave me baby diapers, disposable milk bottles, wipes, blanket etc... We put the baby in the kids area where my daughter stretched and played for two hours and I used the bath etc... The polite generous lady who was the was extrememly nice, she offered me pain relief medicine for my headache, coffee, water etc... She realized I was to feeling well so she even got up from her desk and was.making milk bottles for my baby...i mean that was just so nice of her. Then she called 2 of her colleagues from Lufthansa to take me to the connecting flight gate in the electronic little car... I just could not thank that lady enough for her courteousness. She was a truly wonderful woman. Then the other 2 ladies took me to the connecting gate in the electronic car which was very far, I think it would have taken me half hour to walk there by feet. One of them was even carrying my baby and came till the inside of the plane to leave me and then she gave the baby to me. I was truly amazed at their amazing service. Even when we flew for Los Angeles, the crew members were more than nice. They helped me with the baby, gave me lots of baby food bottles, gave baby toys and heated up the baby water every single time. They were very responsive to all my needs.
This was the first time I travelled Lufthansa in my life and I had a truly wonderful experience despite my 20 hour travel with the baby,blocked ears and headache. I have travelled a lot in my life with other airlines but this was the best airline I have ever taken... I came home and told my husband I am never taking any other airline except for Lufthansa and I truly mean it...
Lufthansa, you guys rock and I am always travelling by your airline from now onwards... and definitely recommending your airline to everyone!!! You are the best Airline ever!!!
"Luftansa the worst airline"
I travelled from Germany(Frankfurt) to India in 2011 October. I can't imagine an international flight does not have any TV screens on each seat. It looks like you are travelling in 80's video coach and and forced to watch at the movie selected by the crew. Moreover they didn't have any option for veg and non-veg. We were told that they only provide veg food. But the when few person told them that they want only non-veg food then they were provided the non-veg food.
Above this I was still hungry, thus I asked for more food and the crew was discussing among themselves that they do have some extra food but they are saving it for themselves.
While my way back from India to Germany, I asked the crew member that I would like to have Brandy with hot water(as I was not well and want to take it as medicine) and not to be surprise any more that he refused and said that they don't have any brandy, and to add on this when the person sitting next to me asked for cognac, he get a glass of cognac for him.
I wont recommend anyone to fly by Luftansa.
Better pay 50-100 pounds extra for a long journey than to be empty stomach and getting bored for the entire journey.

Flew to Beijing with Lufthansa on the awesome A380 plane on the FRA-PEK leg. Cabin extremely quiet. Planes were clean and Lufhtansa flight attendants were very attentive, efficient and pleasant. Seats were comfortable and meals not too bad... Overall a nice flying experience
