"Seat Reservation not honored"
I booked a great seat with lots of legroom just to find out that someone at Lufthansa decided to give the seat away against my will. Even though my boarding pass still had my original seat # on it. and on top of it... customer service pretty much said that there's nothing they can do to remedy the situation outside of giving me refund for the seat which at that point was pretty much worthless considering the lost convenience factor.
Here's a simple concept that the GERMANS may not understand when it comes to doing business in the U.S. If you want to change your customer's seat, a good business practice would be to change the seat to something of "EQUAL or BETTER VALUE". not a worst seat assignment without an apology. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and seriously in need of ATTITUDE check. I will never fly Lufthansa again. fortunately i do have options.
"Small seats but great service"
The flight crew was very friendly, the seat was what to expect in economy, the food ok.
Baggage was handled excellent. The pilot was an outgoing character, and I can say I enjoyed the flight although I have a fear of flying, maybe it was the excellent white whine they serve. Lufthansa is the way to go.
"A flying turkey"
Flew from USA to Kiev, Ukraine on 8/6/14 on Lufthansa. When I arrived Kiev my suitcase was not there. Went to Lost and Found and filed report. I had some questions and they directed me to the Lufthansa office, The Lufthansa employee said they did not know how to answer my questions and could not help. In 5 days my suitcase was delivered to me. Driver told me it would have been there sooner but Lufthansa gave them the wrong address.
I used to fly (a lot) with KLM & Air France, but last year I decided to try Lufthansa (... german correctness and discipline!... I thought). Well I can tell that I will never use this airline, even for free tickets.
Why? Not because they lost my luggage and delivered it after 4 days (it happends), not because the third party working for them in Budapest are complete ignorants and never communicate or pick-up the phone, not because nothing seemed to get moving until I sent an e-mail, CC-ing the CEO of Lufthansa, but BECAUSE:
When my luggage was delivered, it turned out they kept it in the rain for days, everything was wet and ruined. This shows a complete lack of responsability and major neglect! We, the passangers, are good only to pay and pay and pay.
Than a Canadian rep. throws at me the "corporate" slogan, and refers me to the "Montreal Agreement".
Good Bye Lufthansa!
"The rudest staff ever"
When I got to the plane. I realized that there is no room left for my carry on.
I asked for help from one of the staff. She was so confused! After several minutes they finally asked me to put my carry on in the business class section. I did not want my carry on be that far from me, but I accepted that.
When I wanted to lift the carry on, I asked one of the staff for help. She looked at my eyes and said: " if you can't lift your carry on that's your PROBLEM"
She said that in the rudest possible way! And, finally one of the passengers came and helped me.
Keep in mind that the seats were so uncomfortable and I had no space to put my legs!
I will NEVER travel with LUFTHANSA.
"Left wheelchair passenger in the airport lounge and forgot despite passenger's request to be taken to the connecting flight gate"
Elderly international passenger in a wheelchair travelling in the business class with no mobility due to foot surgery with special assistance request was left in the airport lounge without any assistance against her request of going to the connecting flight gate.
That staff never returned to take her to the connecting flight, nor could get water or use the restroom.
Is this the service one expects?
"Seats are not flat beds, very uncomfortable and difficult to get out of them when they are reclined"
Lufthansa needs to improve the seats for a long comfortable international flight journey. Experienced great discomfort traveling in business class seats. For the price paid they should be flat bed seats instead 50 - 60% recline only. Reclined seats made it much worse causing leg cramps, getting in and out more difficult etc. If they don't offer flat bed, they shouldn't charge what they are charging. I will never pay that hefty price for those lousy seats.
Whell, not as good as I thought. The seat was quite uncomftortable without a pillow behind your head so this was a let down. A small meal was served 1 hour after departure and it was quite good and tasteful. The flight was smooth even though I couldn't sleep. Long story short, I think they should make their A321's better.
This is without a doubt, the worst airline in a world filled with horrible decaying service and shrinking seats and inexplicable delays.
First off I must say I am only 12 years old and I'm very surprised since this is the 21st century! What world am I living in? Is this what I'm bargaining for my future family? For my future hopes and dreams? The Playmobil is more efficient than this ****!
Ok anyways, since there were NO direct flights from Budapest to Berlin we had to change planes. The first plane that we went on was from Budapest, Hungary to Munich, Germany, then switch planes from Munich to Berlin, Germany.
My first plane from Budapest, Hungary to Munich, Germany was scheduled at 1:00pm but soon got CANCELLED because of a broken wheel on the plane! My parents, sister, grandparents and I had to wait several hours (to be specific, we had to wait 6 hours to get on the next plane to Munich, which was at 7:00 pm)! Therefore because of that in-efficient little incident we also missed our plane from Munich airport to Berlin at 3:00pm!
Meanwhile waiting for the plane to board we tried going to a lounge called Lufthansa Lounge. My family and I walked into the lounge and it was full of people and no space (by the way it was all filled with old people)! We tried checking in but they denied our Star Alliance card, despite the fact that we have used it all over the ENTIRE WORLD!!!!!!! Then, my daddy got very upset and started screaming (I don't blame him)! We stampeded out of there and tried going to the other lounge which was upstairs.
We came in to the next lounge and it was empty! We went to the front desk, and she gladly accepted the Star Alliance card but said we couldn't go in, because we were traveling with Lufthansa and told us to go back to the PREVIOUS Lufthansa lounge that we had tried going to before.
We were extremely mad so we went to this one of many cheap restaurant in the airport called "Hippopotamus." The food looked beautiful in the menus but when we got our orders I begged to differ... The food was DISGUSTING!!!!! YUCK! I ordered a salad and dear God, I don't know how you can mess up a salad.
Despite the food, the cocktails were really good (hahaha)! We ended up staying in the restaurant for about 4 hours! Then I had enough, and I immediately found a Thai massage center right across from the restaurant! I was so happy, I asked my mom for a 15 minute massage and let me just say it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I highly recommend this massage center by the way.
After waiting for FOREVER for the stupid plane to board we got on and guess what? They put my dad on Standby! My dad got very very mad, and soon enough the lady let him got on. And just to top it off, this stupid airline LOST my moms luggage! I could continue to go on a rant but it is so pointless! I really really recommend under any circumstance, never fly Lufthansa! I would never recommend to fly with Lufthansa. The staff are very rude and not friendly at all !
when giving out meals they only have Non-veg. We asked the staff for a vegetarian option and she was soooo rude she said it is 'Too much effort to make vegetarian options'. I found that completely rude. So what they tried to say was they rather keep their vegetarian passengers starving than too cook them food because they think it is too much effort - REALLY PATHETIC !!!!!!!!!
No entertainment at all. Small Leg room space and very uncomfortable seats !
Not value for money !
I would NEVER fly with Lufthansa again I rather put in a few extra pounds and fly with a better airline like EMIRATES, where the quality of service is guaranteed !
