"Quick Airport shame about transfer prices"

We landed at Stansted Airport on 28th Dec 2011 at after midnight. The airport was fairly quiet and so the time needed to get through the airport was quick and easy. No hold ups.

Our first disappointment was the fact that we could not get the train into Central London as services had stopped. We tried the bus but once again it was too late. We then looked into using the taxi franchise at Stansted. These guys are expensive! Checker Cars wanted over £100 to get to our hotel in W2 in London. We then resorted to using the internet to call a cab off site to see if we could get one cheaper and we did, with Stansted Taxi Service for £75! I'd recommend booking your taxi before you get to Stansted, much cheaper -

"Not the best airport of the world but convenient"

Review

It's not the best airport of the world but it's a modern airport in which we can find our way very easily and has very good facilities; and that's what I require when I travel. I didn't waste much time queuing but as I was here between two fligths I didn't want to change money (british pounds). So, as I was hungry I asked if I could pay my lunch in Euro. Actually I could but they give me british pounds back. Except that, the couple of hours I spent in this airport was pleasant.
