"North Terminal. Big, modern, OK."

Review

Gatwick Airport is named as London’s ‘2nd’ Airport – after Heathrow and (I suppose) Stansted.

It is a reached variously but significantly by a 45 minute stopping train service out of the Capital.
The Gatwick Express from Victoria is quicker and more expensive than suburban line trains.
On Sunday 10th November I arrived by suburban train into the South terminal concourse, and found the directions to the monorail (free) to the North terminal easy to follow.
The North Terminal is big (lots of long walks and rides on travelators)-modern and has all that a big airport is expected to have. Lots of shops, food outlets and other facilities.
It is well signed and I had no trouble in finding my way around, following the directions on sign boards.
However my gate was a long way from the main concourse along nondescript corridors and passages that did not seem to have anything to do with aviation or an airport.

On my return through North Terminal on Wednesday 20th November 2013 at about midday – the terminal was not busty and the Document Control points were uncrowded and easy.
There were clear indications about baggage claim and lots of trolleys for those who had heavy luggage.
A good experience in all. No complaints or negative comments.

Conclusion
Facilities: Good
Check-In Area: Good
Security Level: High
