Lan Airlines Reviews
"My favorite airline"
It might sometimes be a bit more expensive than other airlines flying LatAm but it's definitely worth the money. They care about passengers, excellent entertainment system and pretty decent food. They also have good deals every now and then. I've flown it many times and it's my favorite!
"Cool and calm"
We booked Qantas for this flight, not realising until the booking was done that it was a code-share operated by LAN Chile.
The next surprise was at the airport. We arrived early at the gate lounge, about 45 minutes before departure, and found passengers were being allowed to board as they arrived.
Whether this was a one-off situation or is company policy I don't know, but it made boarding this flight more pleasant than any other departure. Almost like boarding a long distance train at its start point, passengers calmly found their seats, organised their hand-carry baggage and settled in without all the mass lining up down the aisle as luggage was hoisted into the lockers or assorted bits and pieces sorted out prior to seating.
No crowding into the gatelounge, no interminable wait on too few seats, no rush to queue when called (or envy when some classes/groups/seat numbers were allowed to go first!). Marvellous.
Once underway in the almost new A340-300, service was just as calm. Nothing fancy though, a "breakfast consisting of a tiny fruit salad and a cold cheese and ham croissant was adequate but efficiency and politely distributed. Seats just as tightly spaced as most other airlines
Arrived in Auckland ahead of schedule and bid farewell to a pleasant airline.
Most of those on board were obviously continuing on to Chile, a long haul on which I hope the calm prevailed and eased the ordeal.
