Worst customer service I have ever experienced.I'd lost my farther an law while on my holiday.when I phoned etihad to explain that I needed to come back early due to the death they where very nice over phone.as my partner was with me they said there is a charge of a whopping 800GBP but once I was back and sent all relevant paper work in they would refund.now etihad are taking up to 3 weeks to response to emails,I am having to send 3 email to get 1 response back.all's they keep doing is spamming me off.you can never sleek to any one directly just email.this has been going on 3months and all they want to offer me back is 200GBP,what a joke.if I ant been thro enough the stress etihad have put me thro is ridiculous.worst service I have ever had by a company,me and my family would never fly with etihad again.I am still no further on with them either.
"Poor service even in business class"
I flew from San Francisco to Abu Dhabi and then to Kathmandu. Then back from Kathmandu to Abu Dhabi. flight got delayed and missed. They were kind enough to fit me in flight to Los Angeles next morning and provided with voucher to spend a night at the airport hotel.
I upgraded my ticket to Business class from SFO to KTM. Compare to other international airlines, their service is poor in business class standard. It took hour and half to get my drink after plane took off from the ground in Business class - KTM To ABU. On the way back, I decided to try Economy class from Abu Dhabi to USA and found out it was the most horrible flight experience I had in the past twenty six years flying back and forth from USA to other countries.
Ok, let me make it clear, it was all about flight attendants. Sixteen hours of journey itself is not that easy. One needs to be hydrated constantly to keep with the long journey. However, attendants treated passengers like they are looking for free food and handouts. It was the most pathetic scene. If they can not provide "free" food or drinks, how about selling?
I think the management in Etihad Airlines is extremely poor and I would be hesitant to fly agin.
#Etihad_worst_Airlines_ever My nightmare started when I booked a round trip ticket from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt, and since not sure about the return I booked it refundable and paid extra charge, when I requested a refund, they refused and denied that option and when asked them about the extra charge I've paid, they said "you lost it too". They simply let you do the purchase process and pay more for absolute fake option, “BEWARE”
"Etihad cheating with online tickets, refundable"
Booked a extendable and refundable longhaul ticket on their website, we extended it once and after that we needed a refund.
Etihad Global service in Abu Dhabi needed to call me back, since they did not know the rules for a refund !
As soon as (about 3 minutes after) the Mrs had checked in on another flight, same day, they called me back and claimed it is not refundable, despite I paid for a refundable ticket. But it is open ! So I can use it within 4 months strangely enough. I did not request an open ticket I requested a refundable ticket.
We also did not receive the extended ticket in our emailbox - i had to call them hours later to get it.
"Got cheated by Etihad online booking"
The worst between all Airlines, they are obviously cheaters, My nightmare started when booked a ticket for my family from Abu Dhabi to Frankfurt round trip, and since not sure about the return I booked it refundable with extra charge, when I decided to refund the ticket, they simply said its nonrefundable, because of terms and conditions that are totally different than booking process interface.
Why are they offering refund option when they will reject it? Why do they ask you to pay more for this option and at the end then deny.
Why don't they allow you to contact any manager to get convincing answers, only call center where you get provoked through single answer repeated all the time! Ist that cheating?
They have never been accurate! The worst airline I tried ever!
- couldn't get the seats I previously booked online through the web
- couldn't have the special meal requested through the website, and during the flight they justified that as their list has not been updated so my name wasn't there in the list !!!!!!!!! Ridicules
"they wont give a dying person a cup of water"
I fly frequently. I flew from Abu Dhabi to Colombo Sri Lanka on 25/26 November and was served by the most awful flight stewardess - a chinese looking female who was rude, nasty - you name it...
I was very thirsty when I boarded. Waited for about 20 mts after take-off then rang for the flight attendant - too three loooong rings. She was passing to and fro but didn't even bother to respond to the light that came on over my seat. finally about 30 mts later and several more rings she did come - then took another half hour to bring the water...
I was nearly collapsing with thirst when she finally arrived. When I complained she told me that only she and a colleague were serving...
then she deliberately served my meals late - after all the other passengers
my first and last experience with this horrible airline - and all the time they kept announcing that they would do anything to make our flight enjoyable!!
the flight arrived in colombo nearly and hour late. no professionalism. no service culture. no continuity - mark my words

TRAVEL DATE: August 7th
ATHENS INTERNATIONAL: Very pleasant (4h) stay in Athens International. quote big airport with lots of places to eat and generally do many things.
BOARDING: When it was time for boarding I founded out a law that I didn't know. I had broke my hand 3.5 weeks ago so they took me in an office and asked me when did I broke my hand. I told them 3.5 weeks ago so they said I could board. They explained to me that if I'd had broke my hand 2 weeks ago or even closer to the date I was flying they wouldn't allow me to enter the plane due to air pressure suffer.
CABIN: I specially booked business class so I could be more comfy for the 14 hour long-haul flight from Abu Dhabi International to Melbourne Airport. I would definitely book business class again just for the experience. On the Athens - Abu Dhabi A320 the business class seat was a quite good angle recline seat with a personal tv and private air hostesses.I slept very easily. It was a pleasant flight.
ABU DHABI INTERNATIONAL: I must say even in the 2h layover time I was given this is by far the 3rd or 4th best airport in the world. Before entering the Etihad Airways Business class Lounge I did a little walk around the airport. So many luxury places to eat, or buy souvenirs or whatever you can think!!
ETIHAD AIRWAYS BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE: Business Class?? I wonder how the First Class lounge is!! I'm going to say it simple: Big Lounge, very quiet, 6 iMacs, EXCELLENT food, great decorating and reminder for every Etihad Airways operated flight. Soooo time to board...
BOARDING HUGE AND LONGEST AIRPLANE A340-600: Priority boarding and Snap! I'm inside the plane. WOW. Now, thats business class. Luxury value for money. My seat was 5K, probably the most privat business class seat. The seat pitch and bed length was 73 inches and width of the seat was 20 Inches. REALLY wide seat and very comfortable as a bed. Loads of Movies, TV programmes, Audio and games on the E-BOX ( the Etihad Airways TV system).
IN LONG-HAUL FLIGHT: The food was excellent and it had many choices from Arabic spicy tastes to European to Asian. Also good taste of expensive wine and shampagne glasses FOR FREE!! Tip: in a long-haul flight make sure you drink lots of liquid (better not much alcohol) so that you don't get dehydrated. Luckily, because I follow this tip, there were many toilets so there weren't many people in a line.
END OF TRIP: Really Etihad, this is total luxury flying.
"Dont travel by ETIHAD or u spoil ur trip"
I lost my baggage both ways. In one flight they misplaced 30 pieces of baggage of passengers. Ground staff just does not care. In one instance lost baggage arrived after a day and it took one complete day to take delivery from the airline staff.
Typical rude arab mindset is found in staff also. They do the service as favour to passengers.
So dont spoil your trip by travelling on etihad.
"Disgusting Customer service and ripp off"
I tried to cancel my flight (scheduled in 3 months!) due to circumstances beyond my control and Etihad gave me the usual run around. I was finally obliged to call them on 1300-532-215 with my mobile phone in a very bad reception area. I was then told that I'll be penalised $200.00 with a cancellation fee (which I knew – Fare Basis: QKRTAU) but an extra $115.00 for processing the cancellation! Extra Penalty not mentioned anywhere in Etihad document. And that fee just to press a button to delete my booking!!! If it is not a scam, what is it?
