"DAE issues and resolutions"

Review

While we did experience difficulties with the trip due to DAE cancellations/delays, I believe that the new CEO and organization that has recently taken over DAE is committed to making major improvements. I base this on electronic interchange with executives of the airlines and their rapid and caring response to the problems I communicated to them regarding our travel difficulties. If the executives are as concerned as was demonstrated to me, I believe there will be a timely turn around in DAE's performance and greatly improved attitude by it's employees. I was very impressed with the direct interactions and help provided by the DAE gate agents and flight attendents with whom I dealt during our travel.

"Never choose DAE again"

First of all: if DAE have service department, it should DO SERVICE. Me and my wife (actually some passengers with us too) couldn't find any DAE's service.
We bought tickets to the DAE's flight directly from Aruba to Bonaire on 9 p.m. 08/01/2013. Firstly DAE cancelled this flight and suggested that we can go another company (InselAIR) to Curacao that evening, they promised to achieve us with a hotel for a night, with a dinner there, then with a breakfast, and then to deliver us with InselAIR too to Bonaire at 9 a.m 09/01/2013.
We were ought to agree because we have already left our hotel in Aruba and wanted to arrive to Bonaire as soon as possible.
We came to Curacao, where DAE's representative sent us with a taxi to an off-grade hotel. And she promised to send a taxi for us by 7 a.m. to be in time to depart at 9 a.m. As we come to that "hotel" after 11 p.m. we remained hungry till the next morning, because the restaurant was already closed. All the DAE's representative could say was "Sorry, I can do nothing..."
Then next morning at 7 no taxi come for us and I asked for the hotel's manager to connect with DAE's representatives to check out what was wrong. They said that our flight to Bonaire delayed from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and... They lied. That flight departed without us in time!
When we came to the airport, we tried to change our tickets to the closest flight to Bonaire with DAE to 10:30 a.m. The DAE's cashier said no and even didn't want to listen to us. She said that we missed the flight and suggested that we should buy new tickets. She didn'n want to hear that it was DAE's fault - they didn't send a taxi for us and lied about flight's delaying.
We were not alone with such problems - DAE's representative area at the airport was full of disturbed and grumbler passengers. It's true!
We asked for the book of complaints but DAE's cashier didn't give it. She said: "You missed your InselAIR's flight, so go to them and give your claims".
No responsibility, no service. DAE stole the whole day of our vacation. It seems like managers treat badly with DAE's stuff, because they are not friendly with passengers and tough too. They make tourists opinion about Curacao. And it is not positive.

The only person who helped us to get to Bonaire was InselAIR's stuff (Pany). She checked us in their's flight without any problems. We see InselAIR is careing for not only their passengers, but for people at all. And DAE can't even do what they are payed for.

Never choose DAE again(((!

"Unexpected Airport Tax"

Review

An unexpected airport tax had to be paid at departure and transit. There is no indication of this when you book the ticket. The tax for departure is $30/person, which, for a flight of 25 minutes (Aruba to Curacao) is so steep that the economics of the trip changes and that another airline would have been much cheaper.

We consider this practice unfair and show a lack of integrity in doing business. In short, this airline cannot be trusted as a business partner.

In addition, the check-in process is extremely inefficient. It took the check-in person over 1 hour to check in 3 groups with a total of 12 people. There is no online or kiosk check-in.

"if you dont want to make it to yor destination choose DAE"

Booked a flight from Miami - Curacao for a long weekend. Flight was supposed to depart at 4 PM. Currently delayed for 7 hours. No one at check in in miami seems to know whats going on. No notice provided by the carrier. At check-in another DAE flight boarding that had been cancelled/delayed 24 hours. Called their customer line and was told that delay was due to a "technical issue" but they could not elaborate. The carrier has basically ruined a long weekend trip, as rental cars and hotel will not be open if we were to land in Curacao around 2 AM and the next morning would be shot. Currently carrier is reluctant to offer any typr of voucher or refund due to their scheduling problems.

"Compare to other Caribbean airlines, this airline offfers top notch service , attractive clean planes and yummy snacks on board!"

Review

I had an awesome experience flying with them. The first flight got cancelled due to the weather but we were quickly relocated to a nearby 4 star hotel! Second flight was awesome, yummy burritos were served for snack. The planes are attractive both inside and out. Overall , a perfect airline t carribean standards.
