october 2011 flight rome to cardiff vis amsterdam, delayed us in the airport due to lack of stands for the plane so we missed connecting flight, all the staff couldn't care less including ground staff: had to stay in airport hotel over night, lost our bags , were never put on in rome so did not arrive back to cardiff for 4 days. JANUARY 2012 FLIGHT CARDIFF TO DUBAI via amsterdam, to catch cruise arrived in amsterdam and 15 minutes before dubai departure cancelled the flight due to technical reasons, i'm sure it was due to it being half full meaning we missed our cruise ship connection, attitude they could not care less, totally unwilling to help totally unwilling to provide any compensation, holiday ruined , attitude equivalent to FAULTY TOWERS

Travelling to AMS for a vacation, KLM had the best prices, ended up being a very expensive return journey. My flight left on time however i was amazed to be flying on a 20something year old MD 11 ! Not as bad as i thought for comfort, no entertainment and no welcome aboard feeling. Meals consisted of a sandwich/wrap after take off and a pleasant hot breakfast before landing. Cabin crew mostly old and tired like their aircraft, only one happy, chatty young lady working that night. Grooming seems to not be an issue at KLM, crew not caring how they look.No toothbrushes provided for economy passengers, crew seemed offended that i even asked. Check in at AMS: i was laughed at by the staff member who didn't like my chances of getting back to DXB on that day. At the gate i was waitlisted with KLM STAFF TRAVELLING ON LEISURE ! Needless to say they were given priority and myself and one other passenger were left behind. Staff travel have priority over revenue passengers? Disgraceful. Was booked onto a flight the next day, however this was not possible as i was due to be at work. I had to go back to departures and find a flight leaving that day. Air France were able to book me through Paris for that evening but my ticket was not able to be used as it was a "special ticket", so i paid 600 euro to get home. Air France was a lovely experience completely different to KLM although they are the same airline now ? Arrived into DXB on time, thankyou AF. I never used my KLM ams-dxb ticket or my KLM/AF dxb-ams ticket,i learnt my lesson. Never again KLM.

My trip to BKK via DXB from AMS was unforgettable. The most comfortable, enjoyable & relaxing flying experience I have ever had for decades. Emirates's service is amazing and the cabin crews are so friendly & dedicated. With Emirates spreading its wings, now we can really talk about flying. Every time I plan to fly to Asia from my home place, Amsterdam, I always book Emirates.
