Do Not Fly Qatar Airlines If You Value Your Time
atar Airlines is lousy. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, DO NOT FLY THEM. I am a United Million Mile Frequent Flyer and well versed in good airlines. KLM, United, Air France for the most part, Emirates BUT stay away from these clowns. In September, flew from Bahrain to Paris to meet my Wife. Was told I would be issued my Doha - Paris boarding pass in Doha. No problem. Get to Doha and guess what? Flight is over sold and no seats which explains why I was not given a boarding pass. QATAR AIRLINES LIED TO ME IN BAHRAIN. I was then stuck in the Doha airport at midnight after working all day. Did get to Paris, but only after an act of congress. Qatar gave me a voucher for $150 for my troubles, but you have to go to some offsite ticket office to get your money. They take your money at the airport but can't refund it at the airport. Then on Friday October 17th flew from Bahrain to Kuala Lumpur. Flight was late getting in and I missed my connecting flight. Qatar did put me up in a hotel for the night BUT I was late by one day getting to my consulting assignment. To the idiots at Qatar, time is money and you waste a lot of my time. Today, when I went to check in, Qatar had cancelled my return flight back to Bahrain. Got this fixed and made the flight ONLY TO ARRIVE LATE in Doha and miss my connecting flight to Bahrain. Again to the idiots in Qatar airlines Management, 50 minutes to connect from one international flight to another is not enough time given you land in a billion dollar plus airport but have to ride a bus to the terminal, then clear screening again even though you are in transit. The airport is beautiful in many ways but lacking when it comes to a true travel hub. Qatar airlines must have something to do with this. To add injury to insult, I am now missing a meeting with Aramco that was set for later this evening because of the incompetence (and that is what it is) of Qatar airlines. To compensate me for my lost 3 hours, Qatar airlines gave me a voucher to get a meal. Problem is the voucher was only for 15 Qatari Riyal. A bottle of water cost 12 QR. A hamburger at Burger King cost over 30QR. Qatar airlines is out of touch and a joke. DO NOT FLY THEM.
