"Best airline in the world. Flew MCO LGA route. Excellent plane. A lot of legroom. Very professional staff."

Best airline in the world. A lot of legroom and great complimentary refreshments. In flight entertainment was the best in the world. I don't have words to describe how good the entertainment system was. Just one thing that this top class and the best in the world. Believe me. :) :) :) . Boarding was very orderly and was done by very professional staff who took care of all our needs. There were no delays and the baggage arrived very quickly. Overall, this was the best airline in the world and I will always fly by Delta.

"Mostly good trips on Delta. "

I selected the flights and managed to get them paid for on line using my Mauritius issued Credit Card and all this from Mauritius. I did it myself on the easy to use Delta Website.
I booked well in advance to be sure of flights and seats selection.
A couple of weeks after selecting, booking and paying I had an email informing me of a schedule change on the outward journey.
It also involved a complete change of equipment and seats.
I accepted the equipment changes (from a 737-800 and 757-200 to an MD88 and 737-900, and managed to re-select the seats I wanted).
Later on there was another schedule change alert sent-but this time it was just a new timing for the flight- at one hour later from the original time
Baggage. The fares on Delta are very reasonable (in my opinion) and offer a much better deal than using American (BA’s partner airline in the One World Alliance.) All hold baggage has to be paid for –only carry aboard baggage goes included in the fare (nothing is for 'free' despite what they tell you).
There was another slight snag as my travel companion noticed a one letter omission on the ticket print out – no ‘s’ on the end of his middle name. So I emailed Delta to ask if this was likely to be a problem at check in.
They replied with the rules-i.e. names on identity document and tickets must match – but kindly added –‘don’t worry you will be OK at check-in’ which was a comfort.
So we did an online check in from our Hotel.
It worked out OK.
Saturday Sept 27th 2014.
Baggage drop at Le Guardia Delta Terminal was easily done. Nice flight in an MD90 all on time.
Delta offer you a complimentary soft drink or coffee and the famous Delta ‘Cookies’.
The flight from Atlanta to or Lauderdale was in one of Delta’s new Boeing 737.900ER’s skillfully and smoothly piloted through some stormy weather.
Very good IFE and Maps on the touch seat back screen.

Next Flights Oct 5th 2014
Fort Lauderdale-to Los Angeles via Detroit.
These sectors also underwent schedule & equipment changes in the weeks prior to flight.
These changes even took seatguru.com by surprise and were not registered on their site.
The MD88 from FLL-DTW became a 757-200 and the flight from DTW to LAX changed time, changed flight number (from DL1223 to DL19) and equipment- from a B767-300 to a B757.
FLL to DTW was notable for the fact that the Captain retrieved some dollar bills that fell from my pocket in security- and even remembered to remind me of the event as we left the plane at DTW.
Very good flight and excellent- (indeed- exceptional) Flight deck announcements about things to see on the ground on the route.
Check in at FLL was exclusively on self op machines with only baggage tags needing assistance from a counter clerk.
Elderly travellers may find this a bit daunting.
I noted that on the flight from DTW-LAX my carefully chosen seat requests had been arbitrarily changed without my being notified .
DELAY
The flight DL 19 on Sunday October 5th was announced as being delayed due to the fact that the flight crews were operating another flight which was due to arrive in DTW 15 minutes before our scheduled departure time.
This situation became worse when the crew did not turn up at all.
What happened to Delta’s rostering !! A good question.
And this, for a flight that had originated in London (DL19 LHR-DTW-LAX)
Public address announcements were made- requesting the missing crew- by name (!) to report for duty. No one turned up
Eventually after over an hour of waiting, of the cabin crew needed, only three of the four required for a 757 turned up and it seemed that after a two hours delay and wait that an off duty member was hauled in at short notice.
Eventually we got away, only to land late at a very busy LAX and find the assigned gate already occupied and a wait of 15 minutes for the gate to be free and then a towing in to enable us to disembark.
Passengers who were due to connect/transit to flights to Australia and New Zealand must have missed their flights.
Apart from this incident, all my Delta flights were OK

"rude customer service"

My son visits Ny.every summer from California and flies Delta, he is 16 and we never had to pay extra for me (his mother) to receive a boarding pass to escort him to the gate, well we waited in the special service line for 15 min.to find out I need to pay 100 dollars in order to walk him there! The lady which climes to be a "manager" which was extremely rude and nasty about telling us about the "NEW" policy which started this yr.also the man at the check in was also rude as well! Never again flying this airline, would rather pay more money for a different airline and have employees treat customers with respect and courtesy!

"Inconsiderate Service Very Nasty Unprofessional "

I will never fly Delta again. I arrived 30 minutes before flight and they would not let me board. They sold my ticket for a higher price and made me pay $100 more to get on next flight. I needed to because I was flying to Florida for my grandmothers 80th surprise party. Customer service was so rude and nasty. Please if you are reading this review choose another airline.

"Delta Employees Need Corporate Reviews!!!"

This is a review of my previous flight. I flew from Salt Lake to Spokane on Labor day weekend. My complaint is towards one of the flight attendants and the leading supervisor. I was separated one row from my girlfriend that was sitting in front of me with two seats open next to her. I figured that it wouldn't be a problem to move up and sit next to her. When the plane had a few computer problems the flight attendant, Roy (he refused to give me his badge ID# or his last name), told me I had to move back to my seat. I politely did, I thought he was just doing it as a precaution with safety protocol. I later asked if I could move back to the previous seats so the two gentlemen on either side of me could stretch out a little. He asked if he should get the leading supervisor, I asked him to do that for me. When I was greeted by her, I can honestly say I have never had such a unpleasant experience with an flight. When I asked for her name she replied "Stacy" I then asked for her last name and she applied "absolutely not" and turned around and left. I have never been treated like this on any other flight and as a college student spending $550 on my flight to Atlanta and back I will never fly on Delta again. There was another delta airline employee sitting across from me and was astonished to see her fellow peers acting this way.

"Delta Could Use Some Improvments"

Delta was the airline I flew for my return trip after Global Finals. I was with a group and it went well overall. While we were at Atlanta, there wasn't much time to rest because half of the group's tickets had no gate. We had to ask the man at the gate if this was where we needed to be. He looked it up and said we had to go to gate A1. By now it was just the chaperone and I. Everyone else were headed for the gate. We had about fifteen minutes to get to the gate and board. By the time we all met up, they started to board. Our chaperone went to the desk to make sure we were at the right gate. When our chaperone got back, he told me and two other people to board. Apparently, the flight got overbooked, and half of the group had to stay until the next flight. The flight from Atlanta was quiet and comfortable. In the end, everyone got home safely. I don't know if I would fly them all the time, but all airlines have their flaws. Overall the service was fine, the included food and beverages were pretty good, and the entertainment was nice. The only problem I had was the overbooking problem.

"Horrible avoid!!!!!!"

I got a ticket at Bussines Class, everithing was ok before i got into the plane,I take my seat and the NIGHTMARE starts,they anounce they have some tehnical problems ok I wait,4 hours they didn't gave us enything ,no water,no lunch nothing,I was flying from Germany to New York,USA with a connection to Cincinnati,my conection was lost so I request another flyght for next day,they told us to get out,to take our lugagge,oke we go to change flyghts,then take lugagge,I have checked 2 pieces with PRIORITY ,guess what one of the bags( was at second use) have a big hole in it,i made a complaine and they told me they rezolve it when i'll arrive in USA some of people don t recive then,THE STAFF LET THE LUGAGGE IN THE PLANE WHIOUT HIS OWNER , witch is against all airlines rules OMG !!!! so they gave us a room in a hotel ,and some 25 Euro food vouchers,the hotel s restaurant were very expensive so I have to pay from my pocket,next day I got to the airport and I have to wrap my damaged bag from my own pocket again,I check the luggage in and a the gates I realize THEY DINDT GAVE ME A SEAT IN THE PLANE,ONLY A SEAT REQUEST,OMG!!!!!! this was Horrible, the food in the plane was bad,when I arrive in USA I went to Delta to register again my damaged bag,and what do u think, IN GERMANY THEY DIDNT REGISTER ON COMPUTER MY DAMAGED BAG OMG flying with them a totaly NIGHTMARE THEY RUINED MY TRIP BOUTH TIMES, my first trip to USA was HORRIBLE!!! NEVER WANT TO FLY WITH delta AGAIN!!!!!

"Long Trip !!"

I took a trip to visit a friend in September 2012. I started from Salt Lake City, went to Paris/CDG, on to Kiev/KBP. The flight was very long, but went well. The flight crew was very cool, laid back. My bags made it all the way to my final destination. No problems!! Just wish Delta wasnt so expensive, bit I guess you get what you pay for)).

"Trip to Chile"

Review

Delta plane on this route was a 767-300 with no PTVs. I watched the first movie then slept the rest of the flight. The crew was really friendly.
