I used to fly Czech Airlines regularly from LHR to Prague and on to BTS and many other destinations in Eastern Europe. This is now no longer possible as for some reason known only to their top management CSA decided not to fly to or from the worlds busiest airport London Heathrow. As a loyal Gold card holder I was shocked, as much by their move but also by the fact that it was not communiated in any way. Maybe they were ashamed. Maybe they sold the landing slots at LHR for a fast buck. Now I very seldom fly to Prague and instead go direct to Eastern Europen capitals as much smaller airlines like Tarom and JAT fly direct from London. I see CSA have announced they are no longer flying between Prague and Bratislava as there are to be super duper direct connections to BTS from airports like Amsterdam. Just try pricing up a flight from LHR or BHX to Bratislava using CSA for the second leg. It is an absolute joke with a four figure fare. I can fly to Australia cheaper. Anyone wanting to go to BTS from the UK will fly to Vienna for a fraction of the cost. CSA is a great airline but seems to have been badly let down by disastrous decisions from the top.
