CHRISTMAS IN BUSINESS
I left Heathrow Airport on December 20th 2013, using Cathay Airways business class. I arrive a little early then expected and only one person was on the check in desk, I proceed to First class check in and explain that one of my hearing aid wasn't working and was concern that I wouldn't hear any announcement in case there was a problem with my flight. The check in was superb and very friendly. I made my way to the business lounge and even though I was early and no hot breakfast was available, the business class lounge chef cooked me a full English breakfast personally, I wasn't expecting that. I fell asleep with my tummy happy and the comfort of the lounge chair. I was gently woken by the guy who checked me earlier and kindly escorted me to my plane, I was the first one on and very quickly settle in my seat 11a, this was only 8 seats in the first part of business class. The stewardess was inform of my hearing problem. Cathay Pacific staff are legendary they were very patience and kind to me. I arrive at HK and again a representative escorted me first onto the Cebu business flight, interesting this was the old style business class bed, it did felt claustrophobic, but I was fast asleep straight away. At Cebu another Cathay Pacific representative greeted me and escorted me to passport control (diplomatic channel), no queuing at all. I pick up my luggage, the total time from getting of the aircraft to leaving Cebu Airport was 8 minutes. Very impress indeed. On my return trip from Cebu via HK to Heathrow Airport, I sprained my leg as well and still have the one hearing aid. I was a little disappointed there was no breakfast at Cathay Pacific lounge in Cebu. Again they escorted me first to my plane (for the first time new regional business class seats and I love them) and was met at HK and took to the new Bridge lounge, the lounge staffs are really nice and friendly. Escorted first again to my plane bound to London. The stewardess was aware of my hearing problem and now my sprained leg too. Usual excellent and caring fabulous stewardess. While I was asleep, they put me an extra can of coke zero and water by my bed. I have written before in here about my experience with Cathay Pacific and to be honest I wasn't going to write another experience, but this experience was even better, the kindness they show to me, making me feel that extra special. Thank you so much Cathay Pacific. ps Guess what, I am booked to fly with Cathay Pacific business again this June 2014, I honestly don't think they can beat my recent experience I had over Christmas and New Year, but will keep you posted.

CATHAY PACIFIC ARE FAB
I first flew with Cathay Pacific 747 in January. This is usually my favourite aircraft but it was a trip in hell for me, this was an emergency trip and the seats were shell designs and had a back for 3 and 4 days both ways. I did make vow never to travel with CX again. In June I had to do the same trip again and had to use CX again due to it time and schedules and turnarounds, but since I had time I was able to book business class. Now I usually travel business class and on rare occassionally first class. As usual check in was fast and very friendly and the VIP lounge at Heathrow Airport was OK but nowhere near as good as Virgin Atlantic lounge. My flight left ontime and was made a fuss of and spoilt very nicely. The seats are comfortable, privacy is good, tv is good and lie bed was good too. The food was very good and I mean it was very very good ! The flight from HK to Cebu was a regional business class and the seats did no recline and my tv was rubbish and it was the same on the way back too. The air hostress was a delight as usual. I am very fortunate I am going back again just before Christmas and come back sometime in the New Year and again I will be using CX business class, hmm I wonder if I get a upgrade to first class as a Christmas present (too shy to ask though). I have no idea what the economy is like on the Boeing 777 but whatever you do, avoid te 747 like a plague. On a personal note, I am please they are getting rid of the 747 but I wish CX would stop dittering and burying their head in the sands and order the new A380 they do need a flagship model and shouldn't have a problem in filling up the plane, in fact these are large enough to reduce the 5 slots to 4 slots from Lon to HK etc. Next year, I am going to try the British Airways A380 business class to HK and then CX to Cebu.
