I was very excited when Emirates decided to fly from Boston in March of 2014. I fly regularly to India and usually fly British Airways - business Class. I booked a ticket on the "deal" offered by Emirates and the amount that I paid for my ticket was $4270. Unfortunately something came up last minute and I had to cancel my booking. When I called up Emirates - to cancel in March the person I spoke with (person #1) informed me that I needed to do nothing since my ticket was non-refundable but I could use that money towards any other reservation made within the one year period since I booked. Which made sense - so I did nothing. In May, Emirates offered another deal - so my husband and I decided to book a trip to india togetehr - again business class. When I wanted to redeem the money from my previous cancellation towards the new reservation - the person I spoke with (person #2 and different from the person I spoke with when I cancelled my ticket in March) told me the only way I could do this was to apply for a refund. I mentioned to him that this was contrary to what I had been told in march but he insisted that he was right and ACTUALLY FILLED UP THE FORM for me! A week later - I got my refund - 75$! Since then and after numerous phone calls - I am told by the Supervisor of Customer Service at EMirates that I forfeited my >4200$ that spent on my ticket the moment I applied for a refund!!!!! I have tried since then to contact them but can speak with no- one. The Customer Service at EMIRATES is the WORST. I have flown business class my entire life but have never such an experience.
