Avianca Reviews

"Our first and last time with Avianca."

Review

We made our biggest mistake of our holidays flying Avianca this December 2016. We booked London-Bogota on the 14th and returning on the 30th. Both trips scheduled overnight with dinner and breakfast at the beginning and end of the fly respectively with sleeping time most of the fly.

1- We suffered a cancelation on the way out trip (London-Bogota) that cost us the lost of a day in our holidays (trip already planed).

2- Quality of the food very poor.

3- Staff in the offices of the airports and during the flies very unpleasant and no helpful at all.

4- Customer services at the www.avianca.com very deceptive and misleading us with excuses (poor weather, mechanic defaults in the airport and unknown objects damaging the airplane), all external reasons to avoid responsibilities for claims/compensations.

En conclusion, we are going to stay away from Avianca and will advise anyone there to do the same. Avianca needs to pay the consequences of abusing passengers and continuing offering deploring services in the aviation industry. We have deployed a boycott against Avianca and this way force Avianca to reconsiders its services or go out of business. The power is in our decisions (customers).

Conclusion
Value for Money:No
Customer Service:Very Poor

"Worse airline ever"

Review

Terrible company!
1.Me and my wife did seat next to each other in the 10H00 flight from Madrid to Cali
2.Food is terible
3.Air hostess do not come when you call them, you need to go to see them for getting a glass of water...
4.At the checking counter they treat you very badly, without any consideration
5.They required you to fold the blanket ... they say that it is for security reason!
6.more...

If your baggage is lost ,good luck if you can find antbody in charge, seems that everybody is playing busy or just ignoring you, their desks in Miami,INT. ARE topsy turvy area, where nobody seems to know anything. Its just frustrating and time consumming, unfortunally is the only airline that have a direct flight to that city.

"If hospitalized - don't count on avianca's customer service to help you rebook your flight"

Review

My mother had a flight from Bogotá to Miami back in June. Unfortunately 3 days before the flight she had to be hospitalized in Colombia because of a case of severe pneumonia which caused her not to make the flight. We called that same day they hospitalized her to let Avianca know. 1 month later...after her recovery and authorization from the doctor to fly we called to rebook her ticket. It's been 2 months....going on 3 and the response has been ABSURD. Every customer needs to know that if this ever happens to you...(which I hope not)...you are expected (but not told by avianca customer service) to call the second the patient walks out of the hospital to rebook your flight. Had they specified this would have been fine...but don't tell a customer after the fact something different than what you said the day we called from the hospital "once she's recuperated and given authorization from the doctor to fly give us a call and we'll rebook her ticket". That's false information and deceiving the customer! I fly American Airlines 95% of the time...and this would NEVER happen with American.
