Passengers travelling from Montevideo via Madrid to other destinations bought duty free items including wine and spirits but had the fluids confiscated at Madrid because they make you go through the same security checks as at your departure airfield. No fluids more than 100ml, no sharp objects etc. There is no warning at your departure airfield and other hub airports don't do this - there were many arguments between travellers and the security staff!

Review
Big and modern european airport. Well designed and perfectly connected with the city (take the line 8, price is really not excessive which is rare in European airports!). Fast check-in (I didn't really wait) and fast boarding. Some unfriendly staff tarnished my opinion.
