Emirates Reviews
"No value"
I have been a gold member with Emirates for over 4 years and have flown with them for many years but because of their current business class prices I will change to Singapore and Cathay. Emirates business class prices are double that of these two airlines but I don't believe its quality of service warrants such excessive charges.
"very poor service in business class"
i made several request to the staff for a pillow and a mattress and they just could not be bothered. i then wrote to the johannesburg office and in dubai and never received a reply.
all mails were ignored and the first reply was full of excuses.
i have changed from my own countrys airline and regret the very poor service.emirates are loosing their touch and are becoming arrogant.i will try this airline for the last time this december and see what happens.
"Emirates Business Class Lounge Requires Better Facilities"
I as a Business traveler regularly pass through Dubai Airport. The Emirates staff who (wo)man various stations need to learn some lessons in courtesy and become less impersonal. Not all travelers who are simply dressed and brown in color are less than literate laborers from India.
I use the Emirates Business Class Lounge at Dubai. The Lounge has poor wireless Internet. In my 6 passes through Dubai in the last 2 months I have never been able to receive or send an e-mail or read a news article.
The Lounge has very poor vegetarian food. Usually there is a unappetizing mish-mash of a Curry and Steamed Rice.
The worst is when the toilets in Lounge require queing up and at around 4:00 AM all the toilets in the lounge are closed at the same time for cleaning!!!
I have never heard anything about my complaint(s). Possibly after handing over the form it is torn away.
It appears the Emirates is expending too fast to take care of its customers.
"13 HOURS DXB - MEL"
I have been flying this sector 3 times a year for the last 5 years. I have used QATAR, SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA, ROYAL BRUNEI AND ETIHAD AIRWAYS. However EK are the best, you can connect almost anywhere in the world within a few hours and on this route they have the most modern 777 aircraft. 3 meal services and an amazing entertainment system help the time pass. Even at short notice i have always gotten a seat, if economy is full they put me in business class !!The cabin crew are from a variety of nationalities and generally they can't do enough for you. It reminds me of flying in the 1980's when it used to be fun to fly. My only wish is the 10 across seating will be reduced to 9, like Qatar. However the cabin crew are the best i have experienced, aircraft are modern and you never have to worry about their maintenance like some other airlines.
"overcrowded and unconfortable"
Hugely overcrowded flight with poor cabin air quality. Also long lines at checkin including online check in que.
"First class service worse than business class"
Fly regularly and emirates service is on a steady decline. First class has the worst service and a very bad attitude. Would not recommend wasting money on emirates first class
"Beware of Emirates by weight checked bag policy"
I was attending Cape Town Univ as an exchange student & found a cheap one-way fare CPT to Paris ($570) to meet my parents for a few leisure days before returning home with them to the USA on a separate ticket. Unfortunately I became a victim of Emirates’ strict checked baggage allowance. I am used to checking bags & paying “by piece” with a flat overweight fee, but since my USA destination was not on my Emirates ticket, I was subjected to their “by weight” policy. Emirates’ policy is 30 kg maximum for all checked bags & their excess baggage rate is ZAR600/kg. I had 1 bag at 30 kg and a second bag at 28 kg, so the fee was close to $2,400! I was horrified since my fare was only a fourth of the cost. To Emirates’ credit, they took pity on me & made an exception & only charged $800, which is still excessive in my opinion. I hope someone can learn from my experience. When choosing an airline, read all of the fine print & determine upfront all of the fees that may be added to see what you’re ultimately paying for, because sometimes that cheap fare doesn’t end up so cheap after all.
"Emirates's service is world class"
My trip to BKK via DXB from AMS was unforgettable. The most comfortable, enjoyable & relaxing flying experience I have ever had for decades. Emirates's service is amazing and the cabin crews are so friendly & dedicated. With Emirates spreading its wings, now we can really talk about flying. Every time I plan to fly to Asia from my home place, Amsterdam, I always book Emirates.
"Pleasant experience"
Excellent range of entertainment, food was edible which makes a nice change from other airlines and the service was fantastic. Getting on was quite orderly and for a short flight the seating in 'cattle class' was comfortable, would like to see them get a little tougher on passengers bringing huge and/or too much carry on luggage on the plane - wasn't much room left for my bag.
"The glamour of travel is back!"
I just love flying Emirates. The flight attendants are so gracious, always caring. My favorite flight is on the A380. Amazing! Once I relaxed at the Emirates lounge at JFK with 5* cuisine and drinks, they opened a door and I boarded straight from the lounge to the upper deck. Very sleek! I hear that's the way it used to be on the Concorde. In First class, I had my own suite with doors for ultimate privacy. Of course a flat bed with the comfiest mattress, pillow and comforter... After an amazing dinner with Dom Perignon, I went to the (huge) bathroom to change. You can hang your clothes in your own closet in your suite. One last movie on my huge flat screen and I was fast asleep. When I woke up, I had my first shower up in the air. It felt amazing!!! And what a unique experience! On the return flight, I was much more social and spend a lot of time at their lounge. There was a bar, a bartender, 2 sofas... It felt like I was in a NYC bar where you meet people while having drinks and hors d'oeuvres! I caught myself saying "already?" when the pilot announced landing... What a sophisticated and luxurious way to travel!
