"Air Pacific or Air Pathetic"

Review

I traveled from Sydney to Nadi by Air Pacific on 19 November 2011. I was enroute from Rome, Italy via Dubai. I was not issued Boarding Passes for Sydney to Nadi at Rome as Air Pacific system could not be accessed. After landing at Sydney, there was no desk for Air Pacific in the Airport terminal nor could Airport help desk help. There was no clue anywhere about the flight, the gate or where I could get the boarding pass. The flight as listed was at 12:30 PM but showed up on the Departures Sign board at 1:30 PM but no one was at the specified gate. One staff from the agency hired by Air Pacific turned up at the desk at 2:30 PM but had no clue when the flight would depart. Other travelers had varying boarding and departure times on their boarding passes and everyone was confused. The flight left at 4:30 PM.

The aircraft was very old a possible a flight risk.

Though there was a lot of "Bula", even in business class not even water was served without requesting twice. The food (vegetarian special meal) was not only inedible but an unsightly mess. Nothing of the friendliness of Fiji was reflected by the crew. For a four and half hour flight, having just a magazine with seats that hardly reclined was a torture.

A frequent traveler called the airlines "Air Pathetic".
