"Service given in emergency was wonderful"
My wife recently had a medical emergency on a flight from Norfolk island to Sydney. The on board staff from Pilot through to Cabin Staff couldn't have been more helpful in easing the situation. In the end the pilot called a medical emergency and got us to Sydney airport 48 before schedule. the ground support services, Immigration,Customs and ANZ ground support was magnificent and my wife was duly treated by the Paramedics and transported to hospital quickly.
We were very grateful to ANZ for service given. The pleasing aspect is that my wife is now home and well.m
"Really enjoyaable short flight"
The crew were very helpful both ways and the food and wine great. The first flight BNE - AKL was one of my best short hauls in recent times. Didn't have time for IFE but the other aspects of the flights were great.
"Price Gouging"
I have been a regular traveller on Air New Zealand and its predecessor airline TEAL since 1968.
On Wednesday 15 February 2012, I booked and paid for the flight which left Auckland at 3.30 pm. Arriving at the airport at 1.15 pm I enquired as to the extra cost of catching the 2.30 pm flight. I was quoted a figure of over $200.00. Last November (2011) in the identical circumstances, I made the the same request of another airline on the same route. I was quoted and agreed to pay an extra $25.00.
I regard this as outragous and in future will only travel Air New Zealand when I have no other choice.
"Relaxed and attentive service"
BNE-AKL-LAX, B777-200 and B777-300. Service very good, slept for 7 hours. AKL-LAX with comfortable foam mattress. Food BNE-AKL great and dinner out of AKL of good quality. However, drinks service took over 60 minutes after take off. Breakfast was lukewarm so didn't eat, the amount of food was fine. Crew impressive apart from delay with drinks. IFE is much better on 777-300, lots to watch and listen to. On time on all segments, bags off with slight delay at LAX but long queues to exit.
"Customer Friendly Service"
This was my first experience of flying with Air New Zealand. I was very impressed on the quality of food and drink served on the plane and even more impressed with the quality of customer service. It was refreshing to be 'spoken to' and conversed with politely by the cabin staff as opposed to being 'spoken at' which what you get from another certain airline which I will place as a review on their website.
The only downside of my flight was that I did struggle with the leg room which was a bit tight for a 12 hour flight. Mind you I am 6ft 2".
Overall the quality of customer service with this airline is the best I've experienced so far. Even the pilot chips in every now and again. This would always be my airline of first choice.
"Welcoming friendly personnel"
From the helpful people at check in to the Koru Lounge and then on board everyone was friendly and seemed happy to be working. I had trouble with the in flight technology and they came and reset the system quickly. The food was excellent, the wine was excellent. If any suggetsions to improve it would be to offer more herbal and fruit teas. Well done Air New Zealand.
"great airline"

flew to Auckland on B777. Flight left on time. Flight attendant were excellent and offer a great service. Seat room was only okay but I can handle this for a 4-hour flight.
