"Great airline"

Review

Flew bne-akl in Sept 13 and was bumped to Premium Economy. Took the "works" package. Comfort, food, entertainment all excellent. Return trip was on a smaller aircraft but had exit row seating which really didn't appear that much different with respect to leg room to any other economy seat.
Planes were ontime. Overall a very pleasant experience.

"Nickle and Dime"

I was booking flights for my family of four and was appalled to discover the extent of nickel and diming Air New Zealand is now stooping to. Passengers are now only allowed one free bag and not only do they charge you for a bassinet for a baby, but they charge a bassinet fee for every other member of your family which sits in the bassinet row. They will be charging passengers to use the toilet next. These extortionate, money grubbing fees are offensive given the many thousands of dollars I am already paying for the tickets. Instead, I decided to give my money to Quantas who seem to have a little more respect for their customers. If you want to get fleeced at every turn, then scumbag airline Air New Zealand is for you.

" crammed flight"

Review

If you are traveling on a long haul Air New Zealand flight be prepared to be crammed into your seat like a sardine with no room to barely move( very dangerous, seatbelt light on constantly due to turbulance so no way to move around and barely impossible to get out of your seat anyway !!, this can cause severe odema of the feet/legs) unless you are business or first class. I never saw any staff unless it was the mandatory mealtime, ( meals were fantastic! but did not eat as could not squeeze out of my seat to use the toilet) the stewardess on my isle was unfriendly and very sullen... not a good way to arrive back in NZ after being away for 15 years !! My Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to Wellington was by far superior in smiles and service compared to the long haul flight! SHAME ON YOU AIR NZ!

"Extraordinary Melissa(Air New Zealand Staff)"

Review

The time was short for my family and I to make our connection from Wellington on 9/10 12. Melissa went out of her way dashing through baggage claim, immigration, etc gaining permission for us to go through before others on line. It was no easy feat keeping up with her but through her kindness and determination we made that connection. I applaud Melissa who went far and beyond her call of duty to help us. I am going to guess that this came naturally and what a class act to follow. When I tell this story, my message will be that if each of us showed kindness to someone else, including a stranger, what a better world this would be." Many, Many thanks Melissa, may your life's journey be full of all things good." Thanks Air New Zealand for having such a remarkable and courageous staff and such excellent service. It is very important that Melissa knows how we feel. I will never forget this day! Each time we recall our race through the Airport it makes us laugh, knowing that we used every muscle in our body and Melissa helped us to find that strength.

"A regular user"

Review

I feel they are great. Ok, i get the odd grumpy staff member and problem, but really the flight crew i always find great and a real kiwi can do attitude. I always think how a small country can produce such a good airline and large countries with big budgets produce such bad ones. Just wish they flew more places.

"Great long haul experience"

Review

The trip was on 777-300 aircraft on all sectors. Food and wine very good to wonderful as was staff attentiveness. On one flight a single staff member seemed to be "protected" by the other crew and given more straight forward tasks which were handled at a slower pace but all were very friendly. IFE fine as was level of personal attention. LAX lounge very crowded and chose to sit next door in Air Canada and lounge concierge came to get us when it emptied out with a card to contact him in advance next time we fly.

Fabulous two flights. Hamilton to Wellington was operated by a Bombardier Q300 and from Wellington to P North a Beechcraft 1900D. Freindly staff as always

"Service given in emergency was wonderful"

Review

My wife recently had a medical emergency on a flight from Norfolk island to Sydney. The on board staff from Pilot through to Cabin Staff couldn't have been more helpful in easing the situation. In the end the pilot called a medical emergency and got us to Sydney airport 48 before schedule. the ground support services, Immigration,Customs and ANZ ground support was magnificent and my wife was duly treated by the Paramedics and transported to hospital quickly.
We were very grateful to ANZ for service given. The pleasing aspect is that my wife is now home and well.m

"Really enjoyaable short flight"

Review

The crew were very helpful both ways and the food and wine great. The first flight BNE - AKL was one of my best short hauls in recent times. Didn't have time for IFE but the other aspects of the flights were great.
